This Kenmore electric water heater power miser 6, model 153.326463, replaced a Power Miser 8 installed in 1983. After having a bad experience with a Craftsman leaf blower my faith in Sears is restored. Reading reviews is a good thing. What is great about this installation is that the master plumber who hooked it up had inadvertently wired the unit wrong, consequently it did not heat water. I was discouraged and called Sears to see what could be done. The repair person I spoke to asked several questions. He asked what color wires were hooked to what. I had watched the plumber hook them up so I knew. Without a doubt he said the wires were connected improperly. I turned off the unit at the fuse box and connected the wires the repair person said. Also I checked the reference manual and this corrected the problem. Like I said the last heater a Power Miser 8 lasted since 1983, 26 years, without even the anode being replaced. When buying appliances I will see Sears first and see Sears last.....
