Reason for purchase: the brand X that came with our vacation house sprung a leak after being 10 years old. After seeing the low rating and reading the negative reviews I was hesitant to get this model, but the dimensions were perfect for what I could fit in my space. I'm glad I bought it because it was a snap to hook up (electric unit) and although I've only had it for a month, it works perfectly... plenty of hot water and quick recovery. I installed a Sears electric water heater in my other house many years ago and also installed one for my neighbor a couple years ago. I have no complaints whatsoever with Sears water heaters.
