I have replaced both thermostats and the pop off valve. If water temp is set at more than 2, the circuit breaker on the thermostats trip. In other words, I have water that is warmer than lukeworm but not hot enough to worry about scalding. The tank has started leaking around the pop off valve where the valve screws in the unit. Results--a flooded basement and a trip to the store to buy another hot water heater which definitely will not be the same unit. It is only 4 to 5 years old and I won't even bother with trying to hastle with the warranty
