“Buy a different brand”

Kenmore Power Miser 9, 40 gal. Gas Water Heater — 

The Kenmore brand of gas water heaters are junk. Yes, easy to install and quick to operate, but give them one to two years and they all have a common problem of not staying lit. I have this problem now with my heater and we are one week with cold showers. and waiting for the pilot assembly to arive. Can't find the part anywhere but online. The Sears part and repair centers don't even stock the part in Arizona. Sears has discontiniued the tech support over the phone and now they just want to send out a technition who isn't even a Sears employee and they will tell you that the part needs to be ordered. Bottom line....customer support dieing, product quality poor and getting worse.......buy from Home Depot and get customer service and better quality.
