This vacuum is by far the best one I've ever used. It is my first canister vacuum and it took a little getting used to after using an upright for years but I really love it. We purchased our third Kenmore vac of this type in July. Almost immediately, we noticed that every time we pulled back on the floor wand, there was a high-pitch whistle -- EXTREMELY annoying. Watch out with the Wand!!Replacement parts!$$$

I had my kenmore for four years,and it did a very good job! I have two kids and I vacuum almost every day.(no pets) After about a Year we had to replace the plug,and a year after that we had to replace the plastic part that holds the Telescopic wand together. But of cause we could't get just the plastic part...we had to buy the whole buttom piece with half the wand and the electic cable attached. ca $80.00 two years later....there is another piece (a little plug that connects in the handel from the wand it's burn out all black and to replace that part it would cost almost $140.00 since you have... review »

I recently purchased this vacuum and like it very much. Over the years I had two Kenmore vacuums and one Hoover windtunnel upright. I went back to the Sears cannister. Hoover was too loud and very heavy esp. bringing it upstairs. This vacuum is quiet and picks up all the dirt, you actually hear the dirt and sand being sucked up. When looking at this vacuum I wasn't too excited about the bare floor feature, but now that I have it and have used it I find it very helpful esp. when you are on carpet and go to bare floors in just a touch of the switch. I recently purchased this vacuum to clean my mother's house after she passed away. Yes, my mother was the cat lady and she also had two great danes....there was alot of pet hair. The vacuum works wonderfully to pick up pet hair and the tools are easy and convienent to use to get in the crevices, corners, and edges. The vacuum is light enough to move easily from floor to floor, but sturdy enough that it isn't always tipping over while you vacuum...I bought this for my mom's house, but I prefer it to my Miele!

I am hoping I can clean under my bed with this Kenmore Vacuum.

The vacuum looks good and I am hoping it will be useful when it comes to cleaning underneath my bed and when I try to reach far places that I cannot get to without the help of the telescopic feature of the handle. I think it may just do a good/excellent job.

Before purchasing a canister, I reviewed many units including Miele, Bosch, and other Kenmore models, I was wary at first about this unit. I had read several reviews, and it seemed positive for the most part. I have two shorthair cats who shed everywhere. I wanted a vacuum that could clean without blowing dust and hair about the house. This unit is quiet, has strong suction, and good reach. It works well on the stairs, can be lifted easily with the large handle, and will even perch itself on the stair step. Awesome canister vac

I just bought this can vac last night and used for the first time today. My old upright vac broke one week ago so I was able to really put it to the test. (hence, no sweeping for one week in a high traffic home with kids and pets) Anyways, I really had fun, yes fun with this vacuum. It cleaned things that I was not sure would come clean. I put the pointed attachment on to clean in tough to reach spots in the kitchen just for starters and it sucked all of the dust and yuck from my fridge front and was pulling things from under the oven. Great Value and Performance for the Price

My husand and I already own an Oreck upright, but after removing all the carpeting in our home, installing tile and refinishing the hardwood floors, we needed a vacuum that could get into corners and had more features. We looked to Consumer Reports and the Kenmore Progressive had the best rating. So, we ordered it online for pickup at our local Sears. We were delighted to see it had gone on sale. I really like my new progressive 360. The vacuam suction that it has is terrific, I really enjoy having the extended wand, me being short, helps to reach places without getting out a ladder. I would highly recommend this sweeper to anyone that does alot of detailed work with attachments, the attachments fit every need. The powerhead is easy to detach and also has very strong vacuam. I just love the convience of the whole package, I have to travel with it to differant places at times and it is very easy to handle. Consumer Reports correct

I owned a kenmore canister Vac for many years, I finally wore that one out, so I purchased an upright, well I don't care for up rights, so went tomy trusty consumer reports and found that my favorite brand, kenmore was the consumer reports best buy. I have only had my ne kenmore for 1 week, but have put it through its paces in that time. Have had no problems with turning it on and off, seems to have plenty of power, and the expandable wand is AWSOME. The canister is plastic, so you cannot beat and bang it, but who buys a vacuum to do that with. Over all I still find Kenmore to be one of the best... review »

Our prevous Sears canister vac lasted 22 years until it caugh fire last week. We took it outside to cool down and it's still there. The old 22 year old motor gave up and died. I thought that vac would never die. This new vac is quite an improvement and is much lighter than old smokey. I like this new vac, and interestingly it cleans carpet better than (God forbid) our Dyson from Great Britain. This Sears vac has very powerful suction. The small rotating brush attachment is sublime and cleans cat hair off furniture perfectly. To sum it up this new Sears vac really sucks dirt! 5 Stars all the way!... review »

I just purchased this vacuum today, so I can't rank the durability. I did however, give my entire house a thorough cleaning with this wonderful vacuum and I am so impressed! I can't believe I am this excited about a vacuum cleaner! I LOVE the power mate junior attachment - got golden retriever hair off all of my furniture, the area rugs, the floor... we have both carpet and hardwood flooring, and it never missed a beat... got more hair off the floors, furniture and well, everywhere than I thought possible. If you have hairy shedding pets, I highly recommend this vaccum!

I have had many cannister model vacuums. All are clumsy to use because they require one to use a foot to turn on and off. Having the on/off button in the handle is absolutely the most efficent and easy way to operate a cannister vacuum. When one is physically less able to stand on one foot, the hand switch is a godsend. I would not consider any other cannister vacuum. Also, the tools are easily accessible and replacing the bag is also most easy to do. All in all, this has been the most user friendly cannister vacuum on the market today.

Cleaning with Kenmore

I enjoy using this vacuum as it continues to live up to the good Kenmore name in quality vacuum products. I am pretty rough on my vacuums and this one is holding up excellently even in light of a recent move we've made that has required lots of cleaning time. I am thankful for the neutral and smart white color as opposed to gray, royal blue, or bright red. I find that I shy away from purchasing appliances with such bold colors. Thank you Sears for carrying quality vacuums--please continue to do so!
