Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum with Telescopic Wand, Blue Moon White —

I can see why Consumer Reports rated this the # 1 vacuum overall. We first heard about the Progressive canisters from our cleaning person. She uses all types of vacuums depending on what her clients have, so I asked her as to what type and brand she feels is the best to use. She said hands down canisters. And funny thing is, she said Kenmore Progressive's (same as Consumer Reports). When we got home and compared it to our upright, here's what we found. * The nozzle works much easier than uprights (at least easier than our old Hoover Windtunnel). First we love the telescopic wand with the quick release (plus no little plastic wand pieces that you have to fit together). Second, the nozzle releases at the top of the wand as well so that it looks like a gas pump nozzle. This is great for quick spills lets say on a counter. Again all with a touch of a button. * The canister is much lighter than our current upright, I say my old upright is at least 10 lbs heavier (maybe more). * This model is much quieter (noticeably quieter) than our Hoover Windtunnel. You can actually have a conversation with someone while vacuuming. * The retractable cord is a great feature. * This particular model has a 7' hose compared to the standard 6' hose. Again great when using the nozzle or doing stairs. * This model has horse hair bristles compared to standard vinyl bristles which they say is better for hardwood floors. * This model has the HEPA filter bags, and is far superior with anyone with asthma or allergies. Plus the bag is easy to change. Bottom line, we just purchased this vacuum so only time will tell, but from what we gathered so far, it's a keeper...
