I just purchased this vacuum tonight during the friends and family sales event. The sale personnel people were very knowledgeable and truthful about all the vacuums on the floor for sale. We did mention that previous buyers werent too happy with some of the models on the floor. Including this one. Although the one I bought, I did buy the progressive kenmore with the cloth bag, not the bagless. It seems the bagless has its own problems. Im sure that whenever someone is spending over 200 dollars for a product, they want the reassurance they are getting what they paid for. With this product, you do. That is as simple as I can say it.
I got this vacuum home, I actually put it together myself. (My husband supervised). didnt take but a few minutes. I started in the living room. Right away, I noticed the red light didnt want to go out. So I decided to be patient. Let the vacuum do what it is suppose to do. I am used to vacuuming for 5 minutes and then saying, "im done." With this vacuum, it actually teaches you to SLOW DOWN and let it do its job. After a few minutes, we noticed that the carpeting was standing up, getting fluffier as it got cleaned. the light did turn green. I was amazed at how the carpet looked. I own two pembroke welsh corgis and one domestic cat and all three shed! It took me longer to vacuum, but it really did clean the carpet and picked up things out of it that i couldnt see!
This vacuum isnt as loud as the other vacuums I have owned. I actually have an oreck, the 8lb vacuum, and a bissell powerforce, both work, but both are very loud and it causes my dogs to attack it. This one, they dont. I actually take my time using this vacuum and I enjoy the results when i am finished. If anyone out there wants a reliable vacuum, make sure you get this one. also, read the instructions. this is not your run of the mill vacuum. Make sure you read the instruction booklet! It will surprise you and inform you about this machine! There are two filters on this machine and sensors inside the tube where the bag is pushed onto. They need to be cleaned periodically. bottom line, take care of what you have, you will never have a problem with it. I am looking forward to using this vacuum for many years. As for plastic parts in the machine. ALL vacuums are made of plastic. It is how the machine works that matters.
