Although this grill is nice looking and feels heavy, the design as indicated by other reviews is flawed. There is a vent or gap between the lid and the back of the grill that allows all of the heat to escape. I could not get the grill to heat above 350 degrees despite efforts to close the gap with aluminum foil. What looked like a great deal ($179) as a closeout was not a good value. There is a reason why these grills are still in stock. We unfortunately did not see the bad reviews prior to buying. The worst thing was a wasted afternoon assembling; the best thing was Sears gave full...

I have the an issue with the lack of heat being kept inside the cooking compartment. I can't get the grill much above 400F. That is upon start-up and once I start cooking, when you have to open and close the cover to check on what you are cooking you have all you can do to maintain 300F. I had the Sears service man check it out. Conclusion, the hood is a bad design. When we closed of the back side of the hood off the cooking compartment jumped to 600F in less than 5 minutes. The feedback from the manufacturer is that the unit is not designed to...

I just bought this grill two days ago. I opted to assemble myself, It took me about three hours, but only because I have a three year old that insisted on helping. This grill assembled nicely, I'm very happy with the propane "plumbing" --well engineered. The timer works great guys. All you people that have a timer that doesn't work, try winding it all the way to 60 minutes and then back to the time you want to set. You'll find that it works fine. Just like a clock, you need to wind it fully first to get a full loud ring. I cooked some marinated chicken on it first and was very...
read full review »OK, I have to caveat this review by warning people that if you're not prepared to do a pretty complex installation, then see if you can have Sears build it for you. There are tons of screws, washers, big heavy pieces, small easy-to-lose pieces ... and instructions that are not quite good enough.
But if you're willing to put in the work, you'll have a really fine, powerful grill. You get a lot for the money. We got the grill at the beginning of summer and it's been used dozens of times since then. It cooks food evenly and cleanly, and cleans up well. One issue - I usually clean a grill...
read full review »Ordered online, paid $269.00 due to a My rewards giftcard and $25.00 online discount. Assembled easily, just a bunch of screws, good directions. Very sturdy construction, heavy top. My door was warped but..... who cares. Lit the thing as soon as it was put together, burgers on 5 minutes later.... Thanks to the timer I did not burn them (Few beers later) Cooked great, minimal flare-ups, GREAT non-stick surface. Great price, great value.... Don't be afraid of this grill.
