I have a Kenmore 385.19110 model machine, and it is impossible to do a perfect satin stitch using the zigzag setting as the manual states. Keep shopping!

I bought my first sewing machine in 1975, it was a Sears Kemore. I has multiple cams for desing stitching, button hole attachments, plus much more. I have made problable 50 quilts on it plus costumes,clothing,curtains, the list is endless. Aside from a couple minor wear and tear issues, the machine has been fanstatic. I plan to have it tuned up and keep for my girls.  The new machine i bought for myself is Kenmore 385.19110. It is the easiest thing I have ever used. I love the free arm which my old machine didn't have.  The digital controls is wonderful, and the needle threader is the greatest...

I wanted a nice sewing machine that would last me for many years.  I like the digital features offered on the Kenmore Machines.  I purchased the Kenmore 385.19233 model which has the pink spin wheel.  I watched the video which helped to orient me to the features of the machine and then was able to use them. Since I am a novice at sewing, I really liked the simplicity of threading the machine, as well as the ease of changing the feet on the machine. NO Problems

This sewing machine is easy to use and I haven't had any trouble with it. I have had it about 1 1/2 years and I am working on 5 different quilt tops with it.

The pleater foot is a time saver in making a 10 yard skirt.
