Kenmore Single Undersink Drinking Water System —
I had heard great reviews for this product and at the relatively low cost and Consumer Reports ratings, I get it a shot in a non critical sink.
My review is based on purchasing online.
Here is what I've learned.
1. IT DOES NOT COME WITH A FILTER ELEMENT!
You'll have to buy one separately with bumps the price up $16-18.
2. The amount of 1/4 rubber hose given is not generous so you should measure your setup and buy more before you install. I have about a foot left for a tight fit setup.
3. The hose connectors are of the "Quick Connect" type such as "John Guest Quick Connect Fittings" and so require water good water pressure to make the seal at all. If you have weak water pressure, all the fittings that come with the kit will be useless and leak all over the place.
4. The filtered water is only marginally better tasting than tap water to be frank. We have a double osmosis type as well on the main sink that tastes almost as good as bottled so I was disappointed.
Overall, the product of relatively solid make. The kit also does come with everything you'll need including Teflon tape. But be warned, if you don't know how to use "Quick Connectors" you will literally be all wet.
