good product

This stand is a very good sturdy stand for stack apartment sized units. I have limited space and it gave me more floor space that I truely needed. I have kenmore apartment sized dryer and washer this is not made for full sized units. I would recommend anyone that needs more space to buy this product very rigid and strong and not hard to put together .

dimensions are 44x2.75x22.75

Does not work with top load washers. You need a clearance of 48inches or more above your washer. This unit only allows 4 inches so you can't open you washer top all the way. Makes this rather useless unless you have a very short washing machine. My washer is the standard issue top loading washer 36 inches. We bought this unit even though no one at Sears could tell us the dimensions, we just bought with the hope it could stack our dryer ABOVE the washer we just purchased. It was not tall enough and can not be adjusted. The unit is VERY SOLID AND STRONG. Just too short for actual use.

Stacking stand for portable washer and dryers

In reading the previous reviews I think people are trying to use this stacker with standard washer and dryer pairs. This will not work and could be dangerous. This stand is for the smaller portable Kenmore washer and dryer combo. The portable dryer (model #26-84722) comes in either 110 or 240 volts is 23-7/8" wide, 32-1/2" tall and 20-1/2" deep and will fit nicely in the top bracket of the stand. The portable washer (model#26-44722) is approximately the same dimentions (give or take an inch here and there) and is on wheels so it will roll over to the sink for use and back into the lower space in... read full review »

Does the job...

When you have limited space like we do, it does the job of putting a front-load dryer over the washer. + takes up little room - shakes with dryer, BUT the dryer DID stay in place - footprint's interior size for washer is limited (I tihnk it was 26.5" inside the brackets - unless they have enlarged it with the newer model). With the limited size, only a few washers would fit, mainly the Maytag unit, but that has a $25 stacker for the matching dryer. Of course, then you need to buy both, which are quite small (2.3 cu ft washer, 3.1 or so with the dryer) and highly priced.

radardoc

Bought this stand to use with the small apartment size washer and 110v dryer to match. Installed it in our 5th wheel travel trailer in the closet which was plumbed for washer/dryer. Had to modify door a little to get room to open the dryer door but works fine. We are very happy with both the washer and dryer. We have tried other models supposedly designed for travel trailers and have been very disappointed. Recommend this if you have the room to install it.

Wounderful Stacking Stand

I agree with Jeani123 from California. It appears others tried to use this stack with regular Dryers or did not follow the instructions for instalation. This stacking unit needs to be attached to the wall. Iwent a little over board and attached it to the floor also. This makes it as solid as a rock. It is not designed to be used with the washing machine under the dryer. This is only a storage space. You wheel the washer over to the sink for use. I would recommend this to anyone who is limited on space . Yes it is strong.
