Kenmore Washer - Front Load HE2 Plus —
My old commercial MayTag sprang a leak at the main tub seal and needed a new tub bearing -- $125 in parts alone. A friend raved about the efficiency of a front-loader, Consumer Reports corroborated that notion, and Kenmore rated high from efficiency, repair record, and overall cost standpoints. My salesperson (Preston Miller at Sears at the Lakeland Mall in Lakeland Florida) was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and helped with some installation clues. Installation was a challenge because the power cord got hungup on the drive motor, so I had to take the back off to free the cord before I could proceed with hook-up, which subsequently went smoothly. What a quiet machine! Cleans clothes effectively and efficiently. Be sure to have HE (high efficiency) detergent available or you'll get a high suds warning and require extra rinsing (automatic!). Now I'm going to save my pennies and buy the matching drier so I can build a tray-like table top to go over the units to provide more room for folding clothes right there at the machines.Kenmore Washer - Front Load HE2 Plus
