Kenmore central a/c and heat pump — 

The unit performs well most of the time. The problem is that the reversing valve failed twice in the first 15 months, once within 2 months of installation. Currently I cannot use my heat pump for heat because THE PARTS ARE ON BACKORDER INDEFINITELY.

Didn't you buy the Master Protection Agreement? If you did, they would be replacing your unit at no cost to you.
