Lockedhow to use a 1000w microwave

i have my son's microwave but he did not leave me the book on how to use it so i need help on how to cook with it

Do you have a model number?  Sears.com has a great companion website that is a terrific resource for lot's of owner's manuals.  Try www.managemyhome.com, and see if it is available.

No metal inside the oven!

No hard-boiled eggs.

Wrap solids, like burritos in double wrapped paper towels, in case of a "blow-out".

Small doses of power are better than long... ones.

Microwaved food keeps cooking for a while, after the stove "dings".

So, be sure to let recently heated food "rest".

some microwaves have metal walls inside the cabinet ,sst or chrome finish ,so how if no metal in oven ...why are these offered

most cooking instructions on microwaveable foods are written for a 1000w microwave so just go by what the package says

They are designed that way. The microwave energy is focused away from the walls and tagets the inside area
