I bought two for both our washer and dryer. My wife loves the height. She told me it would have been really hard on her back without them and we use the storage in the drawers. Only drawback is they are expensive!
I have not figured a way to attach washer to pedestal. Washer has tremendous vibrations which the Sears tech can not solve and said that it has to be attached to the pedestal. I don't see any matching holes to attach.
Order the pedestals for the unit. It makes the difference when it comes to ease of use. It also provides some great storage.
Very nice pedestals. Right size to be able to store detergents and softeners in. At 6'0" really lifts washer and dryer to a height good for the back. I would have liked another 6-7 inches of height but have only seen the 7" and 14" models.
With out the pedestals the twice a month maintenance, (drainning the washer) is almost impossible. The drain is on the front of the washer in the lower left corner as you are looking at it. There is not enough room to get a cup or bowl under it to catch the water wit out the washer on a pedestal.
I recently purchased 2 pedestals to go with my LG washer and dryer. I like having the machines raised up for easier access. I can store my detergent, fabric softner, extra hangers, etc in the drawers, keeping the laundry room neat and tidy. The pedestals are very sturdy and I do not notice any vibrations or noise. Just make sure that your machines are level. I would recommend these to anyone purchasing an LG washer or dryer.
There is no problem with the pedestals. We bought one for both the new dryer and washer. They are exactly what we expected. It is our fault that we did not realize how much higher the washer and dryer surfaces would be. So high that at 5' 3" tall I can not use the tops as a folding surface as I had all my life. Sure, I love having extra storage in the pedestals, but I think I would trade it for the abilty to fold clothes on top again. I'll give it another bit of time to see if I can get used to it, but advise anyone else who needs the appliance tops as a work surface to think twice about getting...
