I bought this refrigerator in July of 2010. I noticed ice build up on the back wall of the freezer the first part of August, 2011, one month after the warranty was up. The control panel was bad. $420.00 to replace it. Service rep. said this was common with LG's so buyer beware!
...

This refrigerator is a great buy at sears with the bottom freezer and ice maker. The ice maker is noisy even with a filter regulator on the unit. The inside of this unit has a good layout with easy access to milk and eggs. The crispers keep the food longer with out spoiling and the ice makers keep the ice full.

The cons on this refrigerator are just that the water going into the ice maker is loud and when the ice is ready to fall into the holder it is also loud.
...

My wife and I purchased this refrigerator about a year ago after our old one gave out. First, the refrigerator does an excellent job cooling. Temps are even - no freezing spots in the refrigerator part. The size and layout it also very good. We make 90% of our meals at home and shop about every 7-10 days. The fridge has room for all our fresh veggies, multiple cartons of juice, milk, beer and wine plus leftovers, and a slew of condiments, all that and room to spare. The fridge over freezer combo is fantastic. It makes it so easy to see everything in the fridge, is more efficient, and the best part? We can open it up without hitting the dog! The freezer is a bit small, but it's enough for us. It isn't absolutely quite, but well within reason. My only complaint might be that the veggie drawers are a bit flimsy, but I think that is probably the trade off for this price point....

We bought this fridge in February. It's been a spectacular appliance so far. It runs very quietly, the freezer is spacious, the fridge shelves are easily moved to maximize space as needed, it's energy efficient. I have no regrets purchasing this LG. The only minor complaint I have is that the ice maker is a bit noisy on filling for a batch, and drops the frozen batch a bit noisily.
...

We have had nothing but trouble from our Maytag/Whirlpool/GE appliances, some as new as 1 year old!!!

However, we've had LG front loader laundry machines since 1/2006 with zero problems!

So, when we decided to replace our refrigerator, I wanted to go LG. Some of the reviews made me a little nervous but this refrigerator is awesome!!

The swing out door makes it easier to organize the freezer section than the drawer so I recommend saving the extra money for the "higher" model since that's really the only difference.

The door beep that some people complain about is not an issue if you aren't leaving the door open for an extended period of time. We've left it open for our normal "getting things out, locating things, etc." time frames and haven't had the beep sound. Only when we were setting the refrigerator up when it was delivered. We have two small children that like to help themselves so having the beep will be helpful since we've walked into the kitchen after my son has been in our...
...

I installed this directly next to a wall and because the freezer door handle goes all the way across the top it stays open a little bit. Because of that handle I have a hard time pulling out the ice bin tray and the bottom drawer in the freezer won't pull out. That is something to think of if you are tight on room and installing next to a wall.

I purchased this fridge to replace a much smaller older version that was quickly dying. I'm happy with the fridge in itself although I have had issues with Sears and the delivery/set up. The fridge is nice and quiet and I am in a fairly small condo where I can hear everything, perhaps this is because my old one was very loud so anything is an improvement. Also the "close the door" beep reminder is handy - it is helping you save energy after all! The fridge is a bright white that makes my "white" cabinets look a little dingy and in need of a good scrub down. :) The adjustable shelves are just right and I love all the storage on the door.

The bottom freezer is very complicated and poorly constructed. The ice-making set up broke, as did the slide out tray. And it wasn't being abused, I guarantee. Less than normal use - I live alone. The repairman said that LGs are not known for reliable construction and quoted me a price of over $300 to fix it - essentially to replace most of the elements of the freezer. Buy a brand known for reliability.
...

Purchased this fridge to replace a 10 year old side-by-side. Hade to order it due to it not being kept in stock. Got a great price due to a sale. The fridge is quiet - I have no idea why pp had complaints re the noise. We don't hear the defrost cycle at all. Every once in a while we hear the sound of ice dropping out of the maker into the tray, but that's to be expected. The shelving feels a bit cheap, but it is sturdy. Our only complaint is the annoyingly loud beeping noise it makes when the door is kept ajar while unloading groceries. I wish there was a way to turn it down. Other than that, no complaints.
...

Just bought this and I am very disappointed. I know everybody's threshold for noise is different, and mine may be lower than most, but even my wife, who never complains about anything, has commented several times on how noisy this refrigerator is and how much it runs. It constantly puts out a loud, somewhat high-pitched, pulsing, whining sound when the refrigerator is running (which is a lot). We live in a very quiet house with almost no gadgets or distractions on to mask the noise; this refrigerator can be heard running in every quarter. (And I don't even complain about the "to-be-expected" knocking sound when it goes into defrost cycle.) Fortunately, after sending a repairman up to my remote location, my local Sears outlet (which is 70 miles away) has agreed to take it back--no questions asked. The repairman said, "yeah, it's pretty loud, but that's just the way they are." I spoke with him and also several other repairmen and retail salesmen. They all say the same thing--In today's...
...

After much research of the reviews on the top refrigerators, I opted for the LG 22520 bottom freezer. Consumer Research, Sears, and ****** all had great reviews. I also wanted to get the Samsung 25.4 french-door, which had great reviews as well. The deciding factor was when a Sears salesman mentioned it was about the same size motor on both and they would last about the same length of time. Knowing that, I could not justify spending $500 more for a few extra conveniences.

I did not want the freezer drawer since a few mentioned the ice falls out of the container when opening the drawer if the container is full. When I opened another LG freezer drawer at the store, I could see how that would happen. Case solved-order the freezer door option (cheaper too).

There is ample space in the refrigerator and freezer and I was able to neatly organize where I wanted things. The door containers are shifted easily and hold many more bottles than our old side-by-side. The ice-maker is quiet,...
...

I've received the fridge in good shape. The delivery folks were great and quick at installing the item.

About the fridge:

Excellent choice for its class. The price was about $800 for this bottom freezer style. The paint job is slick and is easy to wipe clean unlike other materials. The unit provides lots of "useful" room, i.e. the drawers are good size and fits lettuce and larger vegetables with ease. The ice maker works great, and overall, the fridge holds temperatures very well. I've had it for over a month, and am fully satisfied with it. I was going to get a fridge with a water dispenser, but after reading some horror stories from others, I gave that option up and just went with a large Brita water filter for chilled water.

Other than not having a water dispenser, this is an excellent buy, and it looks very nice!...

This is an excellent buy - so far. Even the delivery men commented on what a great refrigerator it was for the price and they see lots of them. Although the listing does not show pictures of the interior, it is quite lovely....
