Fantastic Fridge For the Money

This is a beautiful fridge and truly makes quite a statement in the kitchen. It was very well thought out - including very modern pulls that dont show fingerprints. It truly has a lot of space considering it is only 23.0 cu ft. Having children I also enjoy the alarm that sounds after the fridge has been... read full review »

LG 23.0 cu. ft. French-Door Refrigerator ... Reviews

We had a specific space to fill & had certain needs to meet & this refrigerator met 90% of them. The Cooler space is well laid out & adaptable for almost any food/beverage/plate item placed inside. I would have loved to have had the deli drawer! The shelves & doors wipe out beautifully. I believe the price could be a bit better on this smaller model. The noise level of the refrigerator is low. The Freezing space on the other hand is a bit frustrating for me. I would like it to be more organizable. The big drawer "dump in" is challenging. The top shelf that slides is nice, but the lower... read full review »

Good value for the money

I purchased this refrigerator four months ago and am very happy with it.  It has plenty of room inside and the bottom freezer has plenty of space as well. If I were to nit-pick I could say that the ice maker is a little louder than I expected it would be but it really is a very minor thing.  The overall style and finish are very complimentary to my other stainless appliances and I would recommend this fridge to anyone else looking in this size/price range.

stops working after a year

I will never buy an LG appliance again.  This fridge stopped working (keeping items in the refrigerator cold, keeping items in the freezer frozen) 2 weeks after our 1-year warranty expired.  We had a repair man come out, and he told us that he told us that it was probably a broken compressor and that the freon inside the hoses leaked everywhere.  He said it was cost OVER $900 to fix it!  Ridiculous!  The Sears staff was helpful, but this fridge was a waste of money!

Too Noisy For Me

I am having a hard time adjusting to the nearly constant noise this refrigerator makes. If people consider this unit quiet, it makes me wonder what they had previously. There is a high pitch droning sound that is audible even with the TV playing. My wife and kids say I am being too picky, but the frequency and tone of the noise drives me nuts, and I am seriously considering returning for another unit. Right now, I am missing my eight year old Whirlpool that never made a sound except for when it dumped ice into the bin. The LG does look great, holds plenty of food and keeps everything cold. If...

I bought this model less than 2 years ago and LOVED IT - great price, looks great - you can fit a lot of stuff in it and it's easy to reach everything.

BUT the circuit board is bad.  The factory did not have replacement parts available (12-14 days to come in) and it will cost almost $400 to fix.  So two weeks without a refrigerator.  Our repair technician says he's seen this before with LGs.  Of course it's not covered under the warranty.  Not very happy.  I suggest spending the extra money to get something with better/more reliable electronics, or make sure you get the extended warranty...

Thank goodness this broke down within one yr warranty.  Repairman officially stated that it was not repairable.  I am hoping to get a non-LG fridge.  I also liked the style, but two things were wrong: freon leaked and "high restriction" that deemed it impossible to repair.  would stay away from this one.  This has been a frustrating experience, you would not expect to have with a refrigerator.

jury's out

I've only had this fridge for 3 days and I agree with the other reviews that say it's quite noisy. It's a low frequency hum that rarely stops. I only really hear it when I'm in the kitchen, so it's not a deal breaker.  I find the freezer extremely inconvenient. Having to dig for everything is not a lot of fun. The smaller side by side that this replaced held far more than this one. I buy a lot of meat on sale and freeze it and it's going to be difficult to do that with this small bottom freezer. I didn't even have the ice maker hooked up because our local water is SO nasty, so I have useable...

quiet and elegant

Great fridge for the money! True, the ice maker seems to never shut off, but it really hasn't been a big deal. It's suprisingly large on the inside and the french door concept is so nice. It just looks elegant and everyone will think you paid more for it than you really did.

Just an FYI incase you're in the same boat I was....I didn't end up getting the LG dishwasher that matched because it didn't get the best reviews. Instead,  I got a kitchenaid dishwasher which has similarly styled handles and it matches very well. The stainless color is almost the same and you can hardly tell a difference....

Here's some info to consider. The top rated Refrigerators in JD Power's 2009 Survey are Samsung, Maytag and LG in that order. Kenmore elite 5th, Kenmore 6th. LG makes Kenmores. We were constrained in size and configuration. We only had 34 inches width and there is cabinetry across from the Refrigerator constraining door access to dining room.  We previously had a Side by Side 33W Maytag in White 20 years old. We had a new stainless range and with PGE rebates decided to upgrade. I did not want ice/water in the door as this is where the majority of repair bills come from and I have hardwood floors....

Beautiful Kitchen Appliance

I have had this refrigerator for one year. My husband and I love it! The LG replaced our 20 year old frig. I was not excited to spend dollars for an appliance, however the LG looks like an expensive furnishing and it has truly updated our kitchen. The capacity is great for a medium size frig. My husband recently returned from Alaska, bringing home 60 lbs. of frozen fish fillets. All of the fish fit into our freezer, WOW! We especially like the french doors and the bottom freezer. The icemaker does overflow and spill a few cubes, when opening the freezer drawer. However, the ice bin has a very large... read full review »

Great Value

When our 20-year old fridge stopped working, we were not happy about having to spend thousands on a new one. We knew what style fridge we wanted for our family of four, but were afraid it was going to be too expensive. When we found this LG unit on sale at SEARS online, it had everything we were looking for, including good reviews... and, it was on sale for only $1,300. Stylish, well-built and quiet. So far, so good.

Prettty good

The crisper is great, love the big freezer on the bottom with the pull out drawer. I don't like how you have to put the big stuff in the door.  The shelves are not high enough to hold things like milk unless you remove one.  The soda drawer is a little annoying, I'd rather have more crisper room.

awesome

Absolutely the greatest fridge - Way more room in the top than expected. Since I use the top about 70% and the bottom about 30% - this fits the bill..................

Great product

We were looking for Steel color frdige for a fair bit of time. Of all the ones that we saw, LG was one of the best in the moderately priced category. Looks great and convenient. Quiet operation. Does the job well. We have not connected water hook up and so can't say how that works. French doors & bottom freezer are very convenient.
