More Bang for the Buck

I'm impressed and completely pleased with this refrigerator. The layout of the pull-out shelves and bins was well thought out. You can easily change them to your liking. The stainless steel door is very easy to clean, unlike a stainless steel stove I have. It's the quietest refrigerator I've ever owned.... read full review »

DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR

Loved it when it was new, but my less than 2 year old refrigerator died and they said it would be 10 days before someone could come fix it AND it is not under warranty.

Stick with Kenmore or another major brand.  Stay away from LG.  Call your local service people.  Don't think like I did "it's...

Nice Looks, no quality!

We bought this refrigerator (and a dishwasher by LG that's even worse) at the salesman's recommendation.  Everything is plastic.  In < 2 years, but conveniently out of warranty, the drawer stops have broken (plastic), the stainless freezer door is dented and the ice cubes freeze in the pan (worse when set for the largest cube).  LG will gladly take your $, but not stand behind their products.  We will NEVER buy another LG appliance.

Hopefully many years ahead I will be as happy in my purchase of this LG unit as I am today. It is VERY QUIET, so much so that I was questioning if it were turned on. I did much searching on a new bottom freezer unit and this one really was everything I wanted. The refrigerator section is so ROOMY. I only wish the doors had the texture, I preferred that. At this time I would highly recommend this unit to anyone. The deli drawer is nice, and I really like the three compartments for veggies. Thanks to LG for this model. It is a simple design with quality put into it. Patti

Great product

Went from a 19 year old Kenmore side by side which has given us no problems but I figured it was time. Both are 25cft but we seem to have so much more room in the refrigerator and freezer section. Well lit and easy to find things. It is very quiet. The doors and freezer drawer work smoothly. The installer pointed out that when loaded, the doors may not line up at the top. There are some suppled shims that you can insert at the bottom hinge to realign them. This is cosmetic but it may bother some people. I personally like that the drawers have bottom tracks instead of hanging from the top. Just... read full review »

Super Silent, Precise Temp Control

Before I purchased this refrigerator I read reviews complaining of noise. This refrigerator is so quiet that I can barely hear it run. I was initially concerned that it wasn't working but watching the temperature drop made it clear it was working fine. Temperature control is very precise. I used my refrigeration service thermometers in the fridge section and freezer section. After two hours both sections were within one degree of the control settings. The shelves offer great flexibility and visibility. The door storage is ample for all the "small stuff". The only downside is that the main freezer... read full review »

Love it!

Looks great, holds lots of food, and is very quiet. It was startling when the first ice cubes fell into the bin but I put a plastic grate in the bottom of the bin (the kind that is used for vegetable bins/crispers) and it softens the noise of the "drop". Produces lots of ice. Didn't want ice/water in the door because of the reviews that said it takes so long to make ice and many brands with that feature have had problems. No complaints - would highly recommend. It's my favorite new appliance!

We recently bought one with the black glossy finish, looks very nice in the kitchen and has pleanty of room in both frezzer and frig, although i think they could have redesigned the door shelves a little better. Overall a decent refrigerator however after we had it for a month we noticed that the frezzer lite would not come on and had to play with the door switch to make it work. We placed a service call to have it repaired and when the technician arrived he noticed that ice was forming around the sub liner in the freezer. He told us that this is a common problem with these units. He checked under...

scratches easily, loud

cons: I would give the white or black one a higher rating, but the cleansteel scratches VERY easily. Don't get this if you are clumsy or have animals or kids. This unit is also VERY loud. So loud you can hear it in the next room. Pros: The interior design is very nice, and the outside looks great too. i love the freezer drawer. The slides seem better than other models. I'm still exchanging it because I can not stand the noise.

Great Fridge

Quiet, lots of storage. Absolutely love the bottom freezer. Digital Temp settings are nice. Really like the notification that a door is open, especially since I have a four year old.

I took everyone's advice

I bought this from the military store AAFES, which buys it from Sears. Overall, I'm very happy with the unit. Very different than the old 30-year old Hotpoint that I had. Quiet and lots of room. Simple controls without all the features. The bottom freezer takes some time to get use to, but lots of room. Suction is very strong for energy efficency. Door alarm if you leave it open by accident. I've always bought Kenmore. But lately, Kenmore's quality is not as good as it use to be and the reviews says it all.

love it

Just got my new LG bottom freezer frig and love it. Had A 4 yr old Side by side , thought I loved it too, but then saw the bottom freezer and had to have one. Favorite thing is the large upper frig compartment. My side by side just didn't seem as large or would hold everything I need to keep. Love big bottle shelves in side of the door. It is so easy to see everything in there now. My daughter said this is the cleanest I have seen your frig Mom do enjoy the size and ease.. Great pruchase and also very quite.

Just lovely!

Replaced a Whirlpool 25 cf unit with same sized LG. (1) it's much more convenient for daily use with all refrigerator items in full view & accessible. Freezer is on bottom, where it belongs, as used less often. Alarm sounds if door open too long; current temps are electronically shown in front of refrig. (2) it's gorgeous! design of front and handles nicer than other comparable units. (3) understand I've only had it for a few days, so cannot verify efficiency, but LG units have a good reputation.

Lovin' It!

I just recently purchased the LG stainless steel bottom freezer after much much research. I was afraid to commit for fear that something better was out there. Well, I have not yet experienced buyer's remorse. My husband commented that it didn't seem large enough until we did a massive grocery shopping and he couldn't believe all the food fit without it looking cluttered. He says I'm spatially challenged--but this frig helps even me be much neater and organized. I just love it! Can't wait to purchase other stainless steel appliances to match. This is truly my best buy for the year!
