This set has all the features most people would need and then some. I purchased on sale at $625.00 less a 10% coupon code discount which sears offered on line. Also received a $50.00 dollar gas card from LG. Picture color and sound are very good. Not real happy with the remote, it's short and a little awkward using one hand reaching the lower functions. I looked at both plasma and LCD. After lots of info from this site and others, plasma won. There is one down fall with plasma (screen reflection) which I hate after the fact. read full review »I have been looking for a flat panel for some time now. I have looked for both LCD and Plasma. The rule of thumb on 40 in. tvs and up is, "The cheaper the price, the lower the quality." I knew this going in but I was still on a budget of approx $500.00. I figured that if I could fine a 40 in. tv or bigger for around $500 I would give it some serious consideration. I searched and searched and all I found was generic tvs with poor quality. read full review »This is a great deal! Holy moly my poor mother paid like 1600 for a 42" plasma not HD tv no theater system no stand nothing like it is advertised here. Worst thing is that its not like it was 3 years ago she purchased it, it was like 2 weeks ago i dont know how someone could just rip her off like that and take advantage of her im going to have to call him now! Ugh
Very good tv, particularly for the sale price around $675.00. Much better picture than my old rear proj 1080i hdtv. I really like the plasma and the way it renders blacks. Sound is adequate for a bedroom or other smallish room, and if you want theatre sound, hook up surround components. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a 42 inch tv.
