LG - 50 in. (Diagonal) Class 1080p 600Hz Plasma... Reviews

This is the best television I could have asked for. The price was unbelievable for the quality of plasma TV. My in-laws purchased a 50" Pioneer plasma TV for $5000, and believe the picture quality is just as good as their high end plasma. It has a fantastic HD tuner because I now pick up all the HD channels with signals up to 45 miles away without paying the cable company anything extra. (See how many local HD channels you can get before paying extra money for HD channels from the cable company). If you are a bargain hunter like I am, you can't find a better deal than this one!

Great Plasma at a Great Price

I decided that my 2 year old LG 42" 720P was too small for my living room and it was time to upgrade. I was going to purchase the Panasonic Viera TC-P50G10 until I found this LG. This TV does not have all of the bells of whistles that come with some of the more expensive models. But it is a TV and it is designed to display video. It does its job very well. The picture quality and specs are equivalent to the Panasonic but the LG is $200 cheaper. The LG also has a very slim profile because of the single pane design. The picture quality is excellent. The blacks look great especially when in THX mode... read full review »

Nice TV at good price

This TV looks great in our basement.  The single piece of glass across the front looks cool, though it made me nervous to pick it up and attach it to the wall when some of the weight was on the glass.  The speakers are hidden and sound great to me.  As with other plasmas, you can see image burn-in for a few moments after you turn off the TV.  Hopefully that won't be a problem long-term.

I used the USB port to display pictures from a thumb drive.  One odd thing is that the TV seems to randomly scramble the pictures.  I had them all in chronological order and gave them filenames (YC001.jpg...

The LG 50PS60 is a 2009 technology Plasma 1080P HD TV that has spared the doo-dad features to provide a quaity and affordable 50" 1080P picture. On sale at Sears at the time the LG was more than $400 cheaper than a comparable 50" Samsung  2009 model plasma. If you're lucky you can get a $$ rebate or 0.0% financing using your Sears card,

The meaning of 2009 technology is important for plasma. This year several technology improvements were implemented that fixed the four failings of previous plasma technology listed below.

> Overall Image Burn-in susseptability is reduced and a scrubber utility...

good for roasting marshmallows

Bought one of these and the instant I nailed it to the wall it caught fire. I wouldn't recomend one to anyone! I was using 10 penny nails and figured I'd sink one through each corner but obviously this Chinese made television wasn't made for something that simple. If it werent' for the water in the fishtank in the living room, I'm not sure what would have happened. And who is going to pay for my goldfish now all boiled and electricuted! This is what I get for shopping at sears!

Bill in N.C.

I,searched for quite a while and checked out lots of TV's before finding this 50" LG,everything seems to work great, picture, sound, ease of control, the plasma is much faster for sports than the LCD's and the black colors are BLACK,I,use a blueRay with cat2 HDMI,only downfall is plasma does use more energy than LCD,cost about $4 a month more to run,but you will be impressed, for the price you just can't beat it.

This tv is big and it is very clear sharp and easy to use. Check out AVS forums. **************** gave it a very good in all categories execpt one and that one was rated good. Its like a piece of art sleek and very cool looking and the picture quality is truly on par with some of the higher end tvs.
