This TV is absolutely amazing. Not only is it a 50 in but its very very thin. Its got amazing picture and I love waking up in the morning to the beautiful thing in my living room waiting for a good game to come on.
This is a followup review - I purchased this in May 2009 and have had no problems whatsover with this set. The TV is on for 12 + hours a day and has worked perfectly each day and every day. The only issue I was concerned with was the glare as other reviewers had indicated - which I mitigated by adjusting some lights in the room and getting a wall-mounted tilt screen frame (If you are mounting on the wall get a tilt screen frame anyway - when connecting the cables in the back you will thank yourself as the tilt makes it easy to connect the cables in the back. You will thank yourself later!). In...

Sears was quick to ship and the workers who put the TV in my car were really good to work with! I have had this TV for over a month and it is better than I expected.
I just bought this at sears about a week ago. While I understand that you can get lemons, I am still very disappointed.
The glare for it was ridiculous. We can't use any of the lamps in the room besides the one behind it because you see the lamp and everything around it in the room.
4 days into owning it there is a dead, neon green pixel on the left-center side of the tv. Taking it back and getting a Sony.
This TV is amazing. I was nervous to get a 720p because I mainly watch bluray, but this purchase has me happy that I did not spend the extra cash. Cars on bluray will put you over the top - it is perfect. Once you are more than 3 or 4 feet from the set you can not see the pixels. Why pay more when you can have this beauty for so little?
This TV worked out great for me! The resolution is great, and the price is great. At first i was debating between Plasma and LCD, and between 1080p and 720p. This TV is Plasma 720p, the cheapest of all options by far, and more than what I need. I'm very happy with my LG =) The sound is pretty good, but not awesome. I have a home theatre system so that takes care of the audio.
I am writing this review, because user reviews have helped me decide whether or not a product is something I would want to buy. I often do exhaustive research, but I really like to read what the average joe has to say. So here's what I think.
I spent several months deciding if I was going to buy a plasma or LCD. Then it came down to screen size. I pretty much was set on buying a 42" plasma by Samsung, with Panasonic being a very close second. But things changed when a friend recommended stopping by Sears to see what they had to offer. And that's when I saw this LG model and lower prices for the...

It consums about the same electricity as my 40 in. Sony LCD TV when I set energy saver to medium level.
Setting energy saver level to medium or maximum will reduce the energy consumption, prolong Plasma panel's life and minimize the screen burn.
I think LG brand gas gone a long way since the Goldstar merged with Lucky many years ago! Just look at LG Washers, dryers and refrigerators at **********!
I received the $75.00 gas card.
We got rid of a perfectly good tube tv that was nearing 15 years old. Needed the space and some of the extra features that a new TV brings. This 50'' LG is certainly a crowd pleaser. It is almost a piece of art bolted to my wall. The tv features are excellent as are the pictures from various stations. There is an obvious difference between digital channels vs. the normal analog ones coming into the house. In fact, the basic analog picture is probably worse than the tv we got rid of, but that I expected. The only negative I have to say about this tv is that the remote control should...
