I purchased this item from Sears during their Columbus Day sale and couldn't be happier. The unit produces an excellent picture on my 47" LCD TV. The sound is excellent and the subwoofer is very capable of rattling the walls if you desire. Software updates are easy to install and the unit automatically notifies you went they are available. In addition to playing Blu-ray disks, I use it with Netflix for streaming movies. The picture on the streamed movies is very good (not 1080p, but very good). After receiving a new Samsung 37" High Def LCD TV for my 50th birthday, I knew it was time to update the home theater system for Christmas! I wasn't ready to go "separate components" so a home theater in the box was the way to go for this household. After researching every site known to mankind (I can get a bit obsessive that way), I had narrowed it down to two systems: A Samsung and the LG -- and the LG was the right choice for many reasons.

PRO's:
1: Quality of sound and picture is excellent, even on regular DVDs.
2. Set-up was easy and fool-proof. All wires were color coded and directions clearly written.
3. Unlike cheaper home theater systems, the speaker wires are not wired into the speaker, so speakers can be replaced if needed and wires can be changed.

The only reason I would consider Samsung after having 5 defective blue systems is because I liked the Pandora feature with samsung blue ray players. Well I no longer need to purchase any more Samsung blue ray players!!
Picture quality and sound is amazing for an all in one system. The price is right and you get more than you pay for. GREAT JOB LG!!!
I wish I had looked at specs more carefully .The one thing I,m dissappointed with is there is no hdmi input so my cable channels don,t come through in surround sound. Also streaming movies from net flix don,t come through in surround sound.
