LockedNetbook for kids

I an wanting to buy the mimi netbook for my granddaughter who is 6 i read someone review that it is not worth it please help before i spend my money or do you have any suggestion on what type i should get her it for educational purposes

To be honest with you.  I dont think a notebook computer is all that needed for a child.  Even if it's designed for kids.  I dont even have one yet.  But thats the same thought i have for cell phones.  I didnt get my 1st one till I was 20 years old and I still wasnt old enough to be responsible with it.  Now you see phones designed for 9 year olds.  Just dont think its necissary.

I would normally agree, it's nice to see kids outside playing and not stuck behind a computer, but...  since computers are so important in the world now, the earlier you can get them learning how to use them, the easier it will be for them. It's our job as the parent to balance their time though.
