The 85 lb. Broadcast Spreader #24322 is really perfect for what I need.  I read the reviews, and most of them were negative.  Many of the reviews are a few years old and I hope that Sears has corrected the issues, such as the plastic parts not working/jamming and the spreader tipping over during use.  Does anyone have any current information that would be helpful?  Has Sears improved this spreader?  I don't want to spend the money if it is not worth it.  Thanks in advance..

Two stars out of five from 29 reviews (17 rated it one star) seems pretty accurate.

It is worth the extra money to upgrade to next one.

My front lawn has quite an incline.  After trying out my tractor for the first time, it looks like the broadcast spreader that is towed behind the tractor would be a problem..especially with the potential for tipping.  I was going to buy the upgraded version after reading your replies, but realize I'll probably have to get a manual broadcast spreader..I guess the exercise is a good thing.
