It is a rainy morning here in Cleveland Ohio.  No outside yard work yet.  While I was wasting some time I was just wondering what is your favorite tractor attachment and why?

A steel dump cart. Virtually indestructible.

You would take a steel dump cart over poly dump cart?!? I would think the steel would rust before the poly would give out.  This is going to get good.  Who else and why?

Plug aerators are a fantastic investment. They aerate the soil, create channels for water to penetrate the compacted surface soil, and allow fertilizer nutrients deeper faster.

I checked those out, definitely going on the list.  What else?

The steel dump cart!

It can hold several hundred pounds of laminate flooring - for sure.

You can move bags of mortar and stones with it.

And, when you throw stuff into the back of it, unlike the tapered-side poly carts, the thrown stuff "stays" in the straight-sided steel cart.

Any ant hitchhikers can't crawl out of the straight-side cart, neither.

Dumb ants.

Hmmm I would have to say the 24838 Snow Thrower. =3 Never know when it's gonna snow here in Montana. And it makes your tractor look like a monster.

I have a steel dumpcart from 1968 that's still going strong!  With the 800-LB loads (max recommended) I've done on this cart, do you really honestly think that a poly cart would still be in one piece after 41 years????  I seriously doubt it.  As handy as my tractor mowers have been, I think that the trailer has been the handiest gadget I've ever had for my tractors, considering the veriety of all the loads I've carried.

I can get so much MORE done with my tractor and trailor, than with just a garden cart or wheel barrow.

Short of some form of front bumper, the towable cart is about the BEST attachment I can think of for most users to purchase for their tractor.

I'm still trying to learn how to "back-up" the two things, though...

suppose to get my new tractor tomorrow with a snowblade.  I'm already thinking about the cart for next year..seems like it could be really useful..one more item....the universal tow sweeper, also for next year.

Oops! I made a mistake...tractor/snowblade delivery is Wednesday.  I wished it was today.

Hey, Grandpa61-That is great! Come back and let us know how it works out for you once you have used it a couple of times!

My selection of tractor attachments is limited, due to the drip irrigation tubing being "on top" of the ground.

But, my steel trailor works good...

The pneumatical tires don't hurt noth'n.

are you talking about the "Plow" type attachement when you say snow blade?  I would recommend the thrower if it' not too late.  We had the blade and when there was a lot of snow it was near impossible to push the snow out of the way.  It just built up and was too heavy to keep pushing.  Not to mention it tore up our driveway.  We got a craftsman snow thrower and love it.  Much, much quicker. I noticed though we sell thrower attachments for the tractors so you don't have to push them.  Looks pretty cool.

Looks like I should have done a little more research.  I do have a "plow" type being delivered with the tractor.  Just curious..What type of driveway do you have?  Ours is concrete and pretty steep.  Hope I didn't make a mistake.  Thanks for your information..

Mine is asphalt and does slope down, not real steep though, but we are on a hill. We totally thought the plow was a great idea when we got it, but the first year we used it the more it snowed the smaller our driveway got because it just kept compacting snow on the sides and narrowing the driveway instead of getting it all the way off the driveway. The thrower launches into the yard and away from the driveway.  And it's sooooo much quicker.

Thanks for the information..I'll have to see how it works out.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get by with it.  I'll definitely write a review after I use it.  No snow would be the perfect situation, but that will never happen here.

I'm totally with you there!  No snow would be just fine with me!

And, the spreader attachment can also "spread" salt down, during the Winter!

I understand the blade attachment is good for up to 10 inches of snow, which would also explain the "head-lights" on the tractors.

You gotta get up early to take care of that, up to 10 inches of snow, before it becomes OVER ten inches of snow.
