If someone says they are looking for a mower, I ask if they mean a walk behind or a rider.

As far as riding mowers go, I think I've worked for Sears too long, as I refer to them all as lawn, yard, or garden tractors, dependent on features. In general I think I simply say riding mower most often though.

I usually say "Tractor," but like WallyP, most of my customers say "I need a mower," which begs the question of "a push mower, or a riding mower?"

I live in an area where people use "real" tractors too, so saying tractor usually gets the reply of, "That ain't no tractor. I got tractors on my farm."

A couple schools in the county even have "drive your tractor to school day".

They're a couple school districts over though, so I get spared that "fun".

Well, compared to those suped-up monsters, maybe a little...

I love my little Champagne Gold Craftsman tractator, though.

That and the jet-black steel trailer it pulls around.

Well...

That's about as good as, "Make the correct diagnostic with a FLUKE test meter."

So, the correct reading, and therefore diagnosis, is left for a "fluke" test reading?

Oh, boy...

What can I say.

Electricians must have a dynamite sense of humor!

I just saw an old colorized-version of the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Birds.

Man! That was just an INCREDIBLE John Deere tractor product placement!

I think it was a late 30's to mid 40's series John Deere machine (front wheels close together).

It was SO green and BRIGHT yellow... with what looked like Armor-Alled rubber tires...

Where's the dirt and mud on that "working" tractor?

John Deere's GOT a belt buckle - along with a clock - that makes tractor startup sounds on the hour.

Oh!

A Craftsman clock, that makes a distinctive model ratchet action sound, every hour on the hour would be FANTASTICAL!

Tractor... Until I started working at Sears, I had never heard of anyone calling them anything else.
