I wish Sears would carry this pice of lawn equipment,it shreds leaves for your compost bin or for mulching. It's made of plastic and is slightly round and on a stand, and has string trimmer line on the inside that cuts the leaves up to little particles.Great for composting, and costs between $100-$200,I can't find a store here in Austin that carrys them.

I got a metal chipper/ shredder from OSH.
It's got a really vicious pair of metal shredder blades, set up like a blender machine's blades.
And, the chipper blades with munch someth'n up to 1 inch in diameter.
Cost under $200.
The electric version is so much more quieter than my Craftsman "larger" Chipper/Shredder - which can chip up to 3 inch diameter material.
But, that Craftsman chipper/shredder is awesome, too.
I use both of them!

Good & bad news. I think the Worx 13amp Leaf Mulcher on Sears.com fits the description of what you are looking for. It sells for $149.99. The bad news is that it is currently out of stock. There are 23 on order, but they probably will not be in for another 10 days. Might be too late if the leaves are on the ground.

In the meantime, remember that most leafblowers double as leaf vacuums that shred the leaves before they enter the bag.
