LockedWill a 842.240561 snowblower fit my 917.270824 tractor?

I have a 42" Craftsman Lawn tractor (Model Number 917.270824), and i recently purchased a used Snowblower (Model number 842.240561).  Can anyone tell me if it will fit?

I found a mounting bracket kit on sears.com, but im not sure if its the right one cause it doesnt mention my tractor model number.  any advice would be very much appreciated.

The 24831 bracket is to fit up the thrower to a garden tractor. Your tractor model per above is a lawn tractor. The snow thrower that will fit on that platform is Craftsman model #24838. I am unable to find information on the snow blower you mention above in my records. Let me dig a little deeper and see what I can find.

I haven't heard of a blower with an 842 code either...    researching

....Apparently that blower was made by a company called Haban Manufacturing that was out of Wisconsin, but has since been bought out by Agri-Fab.

A quick search of Haban really found nothing more then that. I would guess that to make it work it would require some modifications.

Wow, the old single stage thrower and opposition twin Briggs back together again. It's not the correct model(check the sticker under your hood...24839) but i heard of guys making it fit before, Good luck.

I ordered the mounting kit mentioned above the other day.  i should get it by friday, i will let you know if i can get it working.  Does anyone know where i can get a user manual for this blower?  it has a few chains with springs on them, and im not sure where they go.

also, do you think this is too much blower for my tractor?  its pretty big.

Doesn't seem to be a  manual at ManageMyHome but here's a copy and paste to the parts diagram, the different belts were likely for different setups according to model:
