Lockedquestion on home service

so my tiller's engine went out and i have the in home warranty on it. so after 6 times of comeing out they decide to get me a new engine. now here is my question... will  they let me keep the blown engine? because i keep all the briggs and stratton engines i can find so i can use the good parts off them to repair other engines i have. i feel thats the least sears can do seeing as i had to deal with all games sears put me through. and the fact i have had to wait 6 1/2 weeks to till my garden and now won't be able to do it till next year :-(

I guess it would depend if the Service folks recycle the old engines back to B&S, or if they end up tossing the engine.

This would be something you may want to explore with the local Service folks, before the visit.

If there is a procedural exception to be made, it's good to have more than one procedural interpretor in the loop.

Good luck.

I don't believe they'd let you keep the engine. You can ask, but I'm quite sure they'll need it so they can send it to the manufacturer to inspect to determine if there are systemic or materials issues that can be resolved. This is one of the ways manufacturers improve their products over time.

well they let me keep it :) and the new engine is actualy the industrial b&s and has more hp than the old one! oh i cant tell you how happy i am with sears at the moment :) it may have taken them 6 trys but they got it more than right this time! i am one happy life long sears shoper now :) this was not actualy all of sears fault, after all it was not a sears engine but a b&s. its so nice to have a store stand buy the stuff they sell, i dont think you will find that from other stores. so thank you to all that have helpd me... sears and some of the people that work there are pure gold :D
