I've spent the last three days assembling a ton of the new grills that came in.
The new Kenmore logo on the grills is awesome. It's a shame they made the signage with last year's Kenmore logo though. Takes away from it just a touch.
We have a charcoal/propane Kenmore this year. I think it's a good move, seeing as that the Char-Griller of the same thing that you find a lot of other places is becoming a lot more popular. The charcoal grate can be raised and lowered by a crank, rather than the traditional hooks on the side. It's a great feature even though the handle is very large (sticks out at least 10 inches from front of grill) and a man of medium hieght (like myself) has to be wary not to hurt himself on it, if you know what I mean.
The lids seem to be a bit more solid this year, even on the OPP models, which is a huge plus. Even the basic 3 burners - side shelfs, no doors, little storage, black - feel a lot less flimsy then they have in the past. Our PMT guy commented that they felt more "meat and potatoes" then "bells and whistles".
Our stores floorplan calls for an expanded assortment of Weber this year too, which is great, because the Weber Spirit doesn't sell good in our area at it's price point compared to what you can get on a similarly priced Kenmore model.
And, of course, there is a new red grill.
Oh! The numbers are on .com now. They weren't last time I looked. 71/16128 is the 3 burner black grill I mentioned. VERY solid. At that price point I am already anticipating having to order it! The red grill is 71/16433. Very nice looking grill with a back burner for those rotisserie chickens.
Definately pumped about grills. It's my favorite time of year. Too bad our "Powerama" or "Springapalooza" or whatever it is this year isn't until April. I'm gonna be selling this stuff well before then!
We're gonna need a grill topic so this doesn't get hijacked! Sorry!
