Lockedelectric pressure washer 580.752020

Like many of you, I am a loyal Sears customer of many years.  When my grandparents, parents, and I needed anything in the way of appliances, tools, etc, we always looked/trusted the Craftsman name.  The quality of products and the customer service were absolutely the best.  Now, the quality of products is, in my opinion, inferior and the customer service is lacking at best.

I own an inferior product:  craftsman electric pressure washer 580.752020 and have received poor customer service since I bought it a couple of years ago.  The first one didn't work so I returned it and received another identical model.  That one worked for a few weeks and then quit working.  I returned it and received another.  Now the third one only sputters water and I am extremely frustrated.  Yes, my initial purchase was years ago but I was under the impression that an individual unit's year of warranty began when IT was taken out of the store.  NOT SO according to the dept manager at the Sears store where I bought the thing.  He informed me that I was fortunate to have gotten the replacement units that I did get because technically the warranty was expired.  I showed him my receipts to verify that I was within the year from date of purchase of the third unit and that is when I was informed that the year of  warranty was supposed to be calculated from the initial pruchase.  I came home last summer and put the thing away in the shed.  Now, I need to do some serious cleaning around here and sure could use the relic in the shed.  But, now it truly is out of warranty.  So I called the Sears service center in my area and was told that they only service gas powered pressure washers not electric units.  I think consumers should be told at the time of purchase that Sears will sell you an electric power washer but will not service it.

So, I have this practically new electric pressure washer that doesn't work and that Sears won't service.  Bummer.  I enjoy woodworking as a hobby and purchased my many power tools from Sears as did my father all those years ago.  I will think twice about buying anything else from you again.

Muddy, it's true Sears' warrantees the product from the original purchase date. Pressure washers have a unique habit of lasting less than a year around here because water freezes in the pumps in winter, don't think that's an issue in Fort Worth. You can check your electrical service, these powerful little motors will brown out with less than a 15 Amp line.  Do you know what the water pressure is like without the wand or the hose? If you want to try fixing it, the manual is available at ManageMyLife.com for free. Good luck.
