I was able to get my cart and go along picking up all the usual, jeans, socks, underwear, t-shirts, p.j.'s and slippers all at bargain prices along with several other gift ideas I came across. Walked back to layaway and they rang up, boxed, sealed and stored my items a few weeks for a small deposit. When I went back to pick up the items I was a little discouraged that I had to wait so long in line to pick up my items waiting for others just putting their things on layaway. If picking up could be done in a few places like layaway, customer Service and one register the pick up process would...
read full review »Having layaway is a GREAT way to help those who cannot afford to out right pay for something. I can get school clothes for my son and furniture for my home and other things that are expensive and that i cannot afford to pay for out right. Thank you and please layaway around please do not close it like ******** did.
Kmart is the only store where I live that still offers Layaway. I just wanted to say thank you and you make shopping for big items so much easier.
I am on a limited income and if it wasnt for the layaway I would never be able to afford Christmas or the big items that I need for my home but cant afford all at once.
I don't know what I would do if Kmart took away the layaway. Thank you so much for making my life easier.
Hello! I can only say good things about Kmart's layaway policy. First of all, let me say, I do not understand why so many stores are doing away with layaway. It's so convenient. I do alot of my shopping at Kmart because of this. I have 4 children and I'm unemployed, so money is tight. My kid's can get nice clothes, nice toys, even the best school supplies, because of this convenient layaway plan. Sometimes, they run specials and you don't have to pay anything down, or a deposit. For a family on a tight budget, this works! My kids love going to Kmart and they look forward to putting stuff on layaway....
read full review »Grateful for layaway. It gives people like me, those experiencing economic hardships, an opportunity to purchase the non-essential items, as I did, a rug, without putting a big strain on the family budget. Via layaway, I can purchase things for the home, place them on layaway, make a minimum payment, and still walk away with money in my pocket for groceries and the other necessities.
THE LAYAWAY IS A GREAT IDEA, NOT TOO MANY PLACES EVEN OFFER A LAYAWAY ANYMORE, AND NOW A DAYS WHEN MONEY IS TIGHT, ITS A GREAT WAY TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE ITEMS, BY JUST LAYING IT AWAY AND PAYING A LITTLE AT A TIME.... IT'LL WILL BE A BIG HELP WITH CHRISTMAS AROUND THE CORNER....GREAT IDEA!!
This is the first year I used the layaway and it's great. The only thing is I was told I could make the payments on the internet, which I've constantly been told it is down. It is a drive for me to go to KMart and often inconvenient, that the fact that I cannot make a payment on line has been an issue. Also, when I tried to pay at checkout, I had the wrong information with me and had to stop and stand in line at the layaway department. The layaway information should have better direction and the internet should be made available for payments. Thank you.
Online Layaway saved me a lot of time and money on gas, I was able to shop online, pay on my layaway and also pay in the store when I was there. I had the option of which store to pick my items up at. The best part is that I did not have to run around the store collecting my items. They were all in one central location and ready to go! This will not be my last time. I hope ALL stores start this process.
So excited to see this Sunday's ad. Sears has layaway. I am a HUGE Lands End shopper and mostly shop online. However, Layaway drew me to my local store in Beavercreek Ohio. I called before I went. Layaway was "90" days and $20 down. I get there, Layaway is only 60 days and 20% down. Okay, I got over that because I was still going to purchase my favorite Lands End clothes for the kiddos. However, the cashier did not know how to ring a layaway. One full hour later, my clothes purchase voided and rang up 3 times... my little girl's white dress dropped in the floor twice - two managers...

Hey guys, this was only a suggestion about including electronics/tv's in Sear's Layaway Plan. Yes, customers who can't afford a new TV could purchase a converter box. Some people might just WANT A NEW TV and do not want to charge it on a CHARGE CARD with high interest. These same customers might want to decide for themselves, how to get this new TV. It was only a SUGGESTION!!!!!
