My son received this toy as a gift for his first birthday.  He will be 5 years old this year and still gets enjoyment out of playing with this toy.  This toy is the new generation of magnetic letters times ten!  Not only does the base say the name of each letter, but it also makes the sound of the letter so your child is learning letter recognition and phonics at once!  And for those tricky letters that sometimes have an alternative sound you get to hear those too.  All in all an outstanding toy!

This magnetic letter set  does not mar the refrigerator door and stays in place. They are usable by 4 year old children to well into grade school age.  Parents also get a kick out spelling out messages!  The letters are a great tool to distract a child or keep them away from danger while in the kitchen.

Both of my children love the Leap Frog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set.  They danced to the alphabet song and really used the decoder to hear the sounds that the letters make.  The letters provde the same joy as traditional letters on a fridge.  They are used to spell and create new words from time to time for my oldest.  But the added ability of the letters to remind your child of the sound they make in a fun way is what makes them so good.

MY GRANDCHILDREN ALL LOVED PLAYING WITH THE LEAPFROG PHONICS. AT THE DAYCARE/SCHOOL THEY WERE BEING TAUGHT TO READ WITH PHONICS. TWO OF THEM LEFT THAT SCHOOL AT THE END OF 4K  KNOWING HOW TO READ SOME AND BEING VERY EXCITED ABOUT KNOWING THE SOUNDS.

My daughter received the Leap Frog Fridge Phonics Magnetic Letter Set on her first birthday.  Leap Frog made it easy for her to use all on her own.  All we had to do was attach it to the fridge and she has hours of fun with it.  Not only does it teach their abc's but it also teaches the sound each letter makes and to count to ten.  While doing it in a fun song which makes it easier for any child to learn.  If you are looking for an educational toy for a preschooler this would be one to get.  My daughter is now 4 and still plays with it.

I saw this a few years ago and thought it was a little pricey, waited till it went down in price and love it.  It is very educational for the kids.  This is one of many leapfrog products that I love.

Fantastic!

We got this as a Christmas gift for our 17 month old daughter and she absolutely loves it. Kids learn coordination with this toy. They have to place a letter into the base correctly to hear the letter name and the sound it makes. For the letters that have more than one sound, it says what those are too. There is also a button to push to play the Alphabet song and she presses that button a lot. The toy is magnetic but does not scratch or mar any surfaces it may come in contact with. My only complaint is the recording of some of the letter sounds are hard to understand. The "ssss" sound almost... read full review »

I love leapfrog products so when my son turned 3, I wanted to buy a product that he could use sight and sound for recognition of letters. I decided to try the refrigerator magnets because he loved fooling with stuff and hearing it he could repeat the sounds. He could push it and put which letter he wanted to hear the sound as well as see that a letter makes a sound.

I would really advise parents of preschoolers to buy this product. It really did wonders for my then 3 year old!

Every letter makes a sound

My baby loves this one and I feel like it is really helping him learn the letters. He has been playing with this at the bottom of the fridge since about 9 months and he is almost 13 months now. He sits and plays with it while I cook or wash dishes. He has favorite letters and his face always lights up once he fits a letter into the slot right. The letters for this one also fit into Word Whammer, so we have them all over the house.

My daughter received this as a gift and loved it. Not only is it fun for her to play with but helps her learn at the same time.

Great Learning Toy

My daughter loved this!! She learned her ABC's very quickly with this toy. The only thing I would recommend is getting use to the sound :) She loved playing it over and over again.

Also losing magnets is hard but it can be done. Watch your child and the trash can. That is how we lost the majority of ours.
