I've been debating about using Flex Track Lighting in my kitchen. Would like to know if anyone has had good/bad experiences with this type of lighting? I'm in the process of remodeling my kitchen and looking for an inexpensive way to have drop down pendant lighting and fixed lights on the track, without having to run new electrical in the ceiling and making a huge mess!

I've spent way to much time mulling over this at The Great Indoors, specialty lighting shops and online sites. Looking at Juno Lighting, Tiella Lighting, Triarc Lighting. etc

If curious to see what I'm talking about, see The Great Indoors website and search track lighting.

Need some words of wisdom :)

I just ran across your post - you probably already decided, but just in case.

I have the tiella 5 fixture flexible track light.  I have had it for about 5 years.  The first year or so all was fine.  Since then I have had problems.  I replaced the transformer twice and it is currently not working.  I can't seem to find any posts online about them, as far as getting them to work again or common problems.

Knowing what I do now I would not recommend this light, even thought I do like the look of it.

Good luck and I hope you have found/find a great light.

No, I haven't made a decision yet. My kitchen project has been put on the back burner for a little while. However, I'm still interested in the track lighting. I have looked at the Tiella lighting, so I appreciated the feeback!
If I come across any posts, I'll be sure to let you know.

I really like the products from Juno & Triarc, but they are considerably more expensive.

For now, I've put up a regular flush mounted light fixture. Currently, getting new appliances this month, then re-doing countertops and painting cabinets. Flex track lighting will be the last decision :)

We also have a flex track 5 light Tiella and like marmar99, we are having problems too. Our second transformer has just gone out on it. I'm considering just replacing the light.

Good to know..... for now, I've put up a cheapo ceiling mounted light while I redo my kitchen..... I'll do a little more research on this to see how the Tiella lighting is. Performance could be directly related to price, as compared to other manufacturers.

I have purchased 3 separate Tiella 5 light flex rail packages and all of them had non-functional transformers right out of the box!

Thanks for the insight.... I've heard about issues with Tiella lighting from a few people. I may just have to fork down a few extra bucks to get better quality.
