This product will not survive cold weather. I bought the bench and matching bird bath last year. It matched my decor so perfectly and I was just so pleased with them. The bird bath was put away for the winter, but the bench is heavy and since it was advertised as an outdoor product, I never thought to try and get it inside. The tiles did not survive the winter; they blew away in the wind and the bench is ruined.
I had the same experience with the tiles lifting on this bench.I think the manufacturer should offer a replacement so we are aware this item has to be kept indoors for the winter. The box should also state that the bench is not weather proof and must be stored indoors for winter.My daughter and I are going to try to replace the tiles then waterproof the bench. It's very heavy so it will be a pain to store it in the winter.
Please note: this is not a suitable outdoor bench and birdbath. Even though it is marketed as an outdoor product, (Weather-proof, Fade-proof, & Maintenance-free is printed right on the box!), this product is not waterproofed and it will not withstand freezing temperatures. I purchased three of these sets last summer for gifts. Now, seven months later, the two sets that were used are ruined because water got under the mosaic tile, froze, and lifted the coating. Everyone BEWARE! This is a very bad item and not worth it. I purchased this last year and the tile is all coming off. I called all the numbers and they will not do anything for you about this. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!
I had the same experience! I put the birdbath away for the winter but not the bench. The birdbath still looks good, but the mosaic on the bench was destroyed from staying out all winter!
don't buy this if you have any cool weather in the winter. I bought last May ---it looks good but the little bugs get in the cracks and bite you but the mosaic top came off in piece from the winter weather--it looks bad.
Don't even think about buying this bench or any of the product line for outdoor use. We purchased the bench in late summer of '07. This spring the mosaic tiles are disintergrating. The bench was outside in a proteceted area. We live in MD (mild winters). I have been through the manager at the Prince Frederick store where the bench was purchased and KMart's customer service line. Nobody is willing to do a thing about it. I was told by the manager that since I had no receipt that I should just accept responsibilty for what went wrong. I don't recall being the manufactuer of this product.

I left the bench outside this winter and had it covered to protesct it. Most all the mosaic popped off.
