mantis electric mini tiller

a friend of mine has a 2 stroke mantis mini tiller that impressed me very much. i don't really like mixing gas and oil together, this causes much more pollution, even with a small engine. i checked with the web site for mantis mini tillers, they didn't offer the electric motor. this machine i think is... read full review »

Forget the electric Mantis...

Recently purchased the electric version of the Mantis tiller and have been very disappointed. The motor overheats very quickly and the circuit breaker repeatedly shuts off, forcing long waits until it cools off before restarting. It can take half a day to till a 5x10 foot garden, and this is NOT heavy-duty... read full review »

I'm 70 and it digs holes to plant trees, helps remove trees or weeds I don't want. It mulches my square foot boxes and digs up my garden. True it doesn't like rocks but neither do I. But works my sand/loam well. It has gotten my out of the house and I work it till I'm tired and rest. I thought of it as a toy until I worked it a while, I have a larger troybilt that I can no longer run because of the weight. I love my little mantis, don't know why I didn't buy a small one first time out. It does so much more than in the video. I'm in love with it, mine is electric and I just plug it in...

Really works! Does a great job.

I bought the electric Mantis Tiller last year and used it on two new (full of weeds and rocks) garden areas. This little tiller did a fantastic job puverizing the soil. The only problems was an occasional jam from tangled roots and really large rocks. I reset the motor twice due to rock jams. After the initial cultivation, there were almost no jams as most of the debris was eliminated. I just used it this spring (2009) and it went through the gardens with no problems at all. The soils feels pulverized and the fertilizer that I spread was completely mixed in. I was very skeptical about the size... read full review »

Mantis Tiller

I have had this little "work horse" for several weeks now and planted my garden from the ground preparation to plants and seeds in the ground. It has performed like a little champ. This is the perfect implement for the small gardener. It's easy to use and assemble; the box it comes in is a real help in the assembly. I didn't need a second set of hands except to hand me my iced tea. This is a stout little mule and easy to use. The safety features are very intuitive and easy to activate, i.e. the throttle automatic transfer from full open to idle so the machine will not run over you if you trip and... read full review »

Electric Mini Tiller/Cultivator

I highly recommend this electric for anyone with a small backyard. It has worked superbly for me. It is very easy to use and does not require a lot of strength. I am disabled and I have no trouble using this machine. The only problem I've had with the machine was when I put it together. The instructions could be a little better written.

Great Little Machine

My 13-year-old nephew put the the machine together and used it right away to till my backyard and his mom's garden. Worked like a charm. I can't speak to the reliability factor, because I've only had it for a few months, but so far so good.

5 stars

This tiller was a breeze to put together. Its easy to change attachments. Its light weight makes it easy to manuver. With electric you can lay it down without having to worry about gas running out all over, no motor to start just plug it in and push the button and go. It works the soil better than any other tiller I have used. The only thing that would make this tiller better is if it had start buttons on both handles. This is one of the best investments I have made. I used to rent but not anymore. I would recomend this tiller to anyone.
