I love my Mantis Mini Tiller. It was easy to assemble and very lightweight. I have several smaller gardens and I can till up the garden space as well as use it between rows, as the garden starts to produce, to keep the weeds down. This is my second Mantis Mini Tiller. I would not buy any other brand.
This tiller digs deeper into the dirt so I have less strain on my arms. It is so lightweight that I can easily push or pull the tiller to break up dirt clods. I can't think of a single thing I don't like about my Mantis Mini tiller. It's great
This tiller is very light and powerful. Easy to use even for my wife. Very helpful
in garden and flower beds because of it's size.
I used my Mantis tiller the first time yesterday. It was very easy to assemble and get started up. The high-speed tines made very easy work of my garden. I didn't try it on a grassy area, so I can't speak to how it works to till a new area. Its very easy to use and move around through the dirt. My only complaint about the Mantis is that the long arms (presumably long to keep your feet away from the tines) made my wrists and forearms sore by the time I got to the end of the garden, since my arms didn't fall into a natural position when tilling. If not for that, it easily would have received...
read full review »I just finished breaking ground with my new Mantis tiller. I was really impressed with the job it done. It took me a minute to figure let it do the work and it surely did. What I really like is that when you engage the full throttle it easily pulverizes hard clay. I was truly amazed for a mini-tiller . Granted it may have taken a little longer to till up my 10' x 10' garden than if I had used a full size tiller, but for all my needs and pratical purposes, this does the trick.
works really well, I like it
I purchased an earlier model of this tiller, about 11 years ago after an agonizing search and research into tillers, for a medium to small size tiller which might meet my total needs all in one machine. I had allot of landscaping I wanted to do and needed a tiller but did not want to spend the money for a large tiller to establish the medium to large landscape planting island beds and also have to purchase a small tiller for the smaller bed areas around the perimeter of the house.
After my exhausting search decided to try the Mantis/Echo Tiller. Mine is an Echo tiller (the same machine...
read full review »The Mantis proved to be all what everybody says about it. Easy to assemble. Watch out for the sharp tines. DVD was a benefit to watch... a little bit like an advertisement for additional attachments. Powerful, easy and fun to use. Great for a quick touchup and did I say powerful and fun to use?
I love to have the prettiest yard on the block; I plant multipe flowers each spring (impatients, moss rose, vincas, begonias, etc.) and walk around the house each morning with my coffee, enjoying the colors of God's creation. (I also have 27 rose bushes and 30 Encore azaleas around the house.)
I bought this tiller so that I could more easily add compost and other organic matter to my flower beds (I'm not as young as I use to be), and I have to say it does the trick quite nicely.
The key to using this tiller is to make sure the ground is dry. If you try to use this tiller in wet ground, you will...
read full review »I put fenders on it made out of break metal for more control. Try pulling it for hilling taters. I didn't by it for heavy duty tilling. I've got a big tiller for that. Be ideal for weeding btween rows. I just bought it. About 5hrs on it, no problems so far. Will update later if possible.
