I had never used front load until moving into our dream house which supplied the washer and dryer. I was unsure what to expect until using them. It was absolutely wonderful. I HAVE CUT MY WATER BILL DOWN BY 1/3. This is an excellent product for me since with a family of 5, I was always doing laundry....

Most Helpful Critical Review

We did a remodel in 2007 and I bought a large capacity Maytag washer and dryer, thinking that this would last the rest of my life.  (I'm 70 and the last ones lasted for 25 years and in fact were still going but thought I'd "upgrade.")

A few months ago, a baffle arm (the rib inside the machine that agitates...

With a family of four, this washer is a godsend! I can't tell you how many loads of laundry I do a week and now with this washer, it cuts the number of loads in half.

Why we waited so long to purchase the front loading Maytag washer and dryer is beyond me. Sure, they're more expensive than most but they're not the most expensive. And what they save in time and frustration is beyond words. I do laundry nearly everyday and this set makes it fun and easy. I love the simplicity of the dials and settings and I love the sophistication of technology that helps me get this everyday job done right. Follow the instructions on using the right kind of soap and leave the washer door open---advice from friends and in the manual. I look forward to laundry now! How about that?...

We got our Matag 4.0 Front Loader washer on Sunday and it has been great.  It does take a little longer to wash than our old top loader, but I have already noticed the clothes, especially the whites, are cleaner and brighter.

My twin boys like to take turns starting the machine.  (With supervision of course).  The also like to watch it during the high speed spin.  Who would of thought a washer machine could be so entertaining.

So far this machine is wonderful and we are enjoying it very much.

This Maytag is wonderful! We've had this just about 2 yrs now and it's amazing! It does a great job washig our clothes, MY husband is in construction and  I have 2 little girls. I've not yet had to rewashed an item! Even my girls help me wash clothes. It's a front loader so they have no problem putting clothes in, the button are easy to use.

The Maytag Washer is the easiest machine to use even I am able (a man) to use it and get great results. The front loading is easy and makes the filling not a chore and the tuning of the different cycles are simple and quick. The machine seems to glide while doing the wash.

question

I recently bought a Sears Kenmore Elite Oasis top load and totally 100% hate it. Only had it a few months. The clothes are so tangled up and I have to sew on torn off buttons. Just beats out clothes to pieces. I love to hang clothes out on the clothes line, and now that is totally out of the question. Could anyone tell me if the front load entangles and wrinkles all of the clothes like the top load. Thanks.

Great washer

Got this washer Aug. 2008, and it does a great job. However for the extra clean cycle it seems to take awhile. Its very quiet. I just load it, and forget it. I got the Maytag matching dryer as well. You also need the 15 inch pedestal or it won't look right unless you want to stack them. I thought the price of the pedestal's were high, but over all they both do a great job. I would recommend this to anyone looking for clean laundry.

I have had the Maytag EpicZ washer for about 3 months now, doing at least 20 loads of launry a week.  The machine works fantastic, has lots of choices for water temperature, extra rinse, and types of washing (delicates, heavy load, etc).  We have received our water bill twice since getting the washer and we use 1,000 gallons less - no other changes in household.  Since we also have a septic tank this is benefical in those terms also.  The only complaint I would have about the machine would be the height.  I thought spending an extra $250 each for the stand for the machines (we bought washer...

This washer is the best.

This, Maytag 4.0 cu. ft. Super Size Capacity Plus Front Load Washer, is top of the line of all washers. This washing machine washes your clothes so good that they come out looking new again.

Excellent Value for the Money!

We bought the washer and matching dryer about a year ago to replace a 20 y.o. top loader and dryer set. Operating the washer is easy. The control panel is well thought out and straightforward. Loading detergent and softener is easy as well. This washer uses much less water than the top loader it replaced, and less detergent too. We generally use less than half the amount indicated by the fill line and the clothes always come out clean. Another big plus is the fact that nylon stockings can be washed without being placed in a bag. They do not come out tangled or snagged. The washer sits on a slab... read full review »

We have this in our kitchen!

In our apartment the washer and dryer have to be in the kitchen- something I was very nervous about, however, this washer is so quiet we can have conversations right at our table next to it. It's a nice looking machine so I'm not embarassed to have company over- even if it was running at the time! The only time in 17 months that we had a problem is when one of my bobby pins got stuck in the motor (so it was actually my own negligence). A repair man came out very shortly after we called in the problem and fixed it without making me feel foolish for not emptying my pockets! Would buy another one... read full review »

Withstands College Kids

Washington State University uses these washers in the residence halls at Stephenson complex - 3 thirteen floor buildings. The laundry rooms for each building has 8 of these washers. I was impressed with their durability and ease of use! The only way the clothes will come out dirty is if you add too much detergent, a little goes a long way. I'm buying a house and this is the washer I'm going to buy.
