I am capable of following manufacturers directions.....so please do not think I am some less than intelligent house mouse that does not follow them! Even doing exctly as stated, the washer is HORRIBLE! I would say one of the worst ever consumer rip-offs ever (well maybe not as bad as the Cadillac 4/6/8 engines)! This thing is ROUGH on your clothes. I have had it for 8 weeks and I have already found several clothing items that have been a little (or a lot) shredded after being washed....not before being washed, but after . Maytag 7.4 cu. ft. Electric Front-Load Steam Dryer, White
We're extremely happy with this dryer - a thousand times better than our previous dryer. It's fast and efficient. My wife loves the wrinkle free feature. We notice far less lint than our previous dryer, so it seems to be easy on clothes.
It's a little too easy to hit the power button, but that's a minor issue.

We have been extremely happy with this washer. It's quite and efficient. It seems to be very easy on clothes - we notice far less lint in the dryer than previous washer.
I could do without the chime when it's turned on and off. This unit is located near an entry way. The power button is easy to hit accidentally. These are pretty minor issues.
