This is a great machine. It is worth the money. I purchased it for the TV Guardian feature. TV Guardian is a filter that filters all the bad language out of your shows. This is currently the only DVD Upconverter I know that has it. I have used TV Guardian for the last eight years and will never purchase another machine without it. The DVD player is great and and a very nice picture. I had only minor problems setting it up. I had to plug it in with the yellow/red/white cables to change a setting before it would recognize the green/blue/red ones. I would love to see the HDMI connection. Very good...

This is a great DVD Player, works very well, picture quality was superb. I would recommend this player to anyone. The Remote is a little small for my big hands, but other than that, 5 star baby
I have been using this dvd player for 2 weeks and can not say enough great things about it. When I play my old dvds the picture is much sharper, the color is more vivid and it is like i have bought all new dvds. I am asking all that I know to buy one and notice the difference in their pictures clarity. I am ordering 2 more for myself.
Chose this DVD player based on the reviews and the price. Wow. This is the best DVD player I have owned at any price. I f you are looking for a progressive scan DVD player with hdmi or not. Don't waste your time looking further. Get this one now.
Purchased this because it is inexpensive (our old player died). Got it home and hooked it up. Works great, but as previously stated remote is TINY, think 3 credit cards stacked on top of each other. But while surfing the menu options I found it has TVGaurdian on it. It will filter language out of movies via subtitle tracks (for an additional $29.99 on Paypal). I found this to be an EXCELLENT value, and it seems to work very well.
I STARTED WITH A PHILIPS, RETURNED FOR A SAMSUNG, ONLY TO RETURN THAT FOR THIS MEMOREX AND MY SEARCHING FOR A DVD PLAYER W/UPCONVERT IS "OVER". NEED NOT SAY ANYMORE ABOUT THE PLAYER BUT PERFECT.
NOW THE REMOTE CONTROL IS AN UNUSUAL SIZE! VERY SMALL AND VERY THIN, BUT PROGRAMED MY DIRECT TV REMOTE AND ELIMINATED THE "LITTLE" PROBLEM.
Having just upgraded to HDTV I wanted to upgrade my DVD as well. This Memorex DVD player does a great job of producing a picture on the new TV, especiaolly at the price offerred by Sears. I purchased on-line and it was delivered extremely fast. It is easy to operate and operates as advertized. I do recommend using HDMI for the best reproduction. Definitely a five star item.
I purchased this DVD player today and tried it out on all the possible DVDs (PAL and NTSC formats) that i had, along with VCDs, photo CDs, and MP3s. Believe me it reads all of them. It was unbelievable, since i have not been able to play all of the above mentioned CDs in any of the DVDs that i had purchased earlier. Not to mention the cost of this player, which is very economical.
Overall, a DVD player which can work very efficiently for a wonderful price.

Wrong, This Is A Great Player I Would Recommend This To Every Body. It Playes All My DVDs, And CDs+RWs. So If You Want A Great DVD Player, Then This Is For You.
