Great tire. Highly recommended. Great all around performance - handling, wet pavement, all conditions. Approaching 90K miles on this set. Wear is now showing to the point I am shopping for new tires. Started by looking at these tires first and will buy these again unless prices are unreasonable.
My experience with Michelin Hydroedge tires on a Mercury Villager minivan had been disappointing. I've owned various Michelin tires on other cars with very good results and the brand is the only tire I'll put on my Volvo. The Hydroedge was advertised as a 90K mileage tire, quiet, good traction, and good...
Just had a set of Hydroedges put on my Toyota Sienna. Too soon to comment on wet weather handling, etc., but one thing I discovered right away is that this is one very noisy tire. Annoyingly noisy.
At 36 years old I've bought many, many tires goodyear, uniroyal, the list goes on and on. But this tire took my car to a new level. it is noiseless, so smooth, I can't tell any difference in road conditions when I hit puddles on the interstate and at 20,000 miles they still look brand new and feel the way they did when I bought them. This is the only tire my cars will see in the future. As a ex-goodyear person I nearly passed on them. What a mistake that would have been.
These are some of the best tires Michilin has ever made, in my opinion. I have had this set on my car (87 Buick Regal) and I drive quite agressively. These tires not only handle the road very well in dry weather, but they do surpisingly well in wet weather also. I know that if and when I wear these out, I'll put the same thing back on. I highly recommend these tires to anyone.
I bought this tire about 3 yrs. ago as of 9/25/06 and love it. I put a set on my 2000 Chevy Impalla LS, my parents have a set on their 2001 Chevy Impalla, and my grandparents have a set on their Chevy Lumina van, about the same time. I have about 70K on mine, mostly freeway the first two years and mostly city/windy(hilly) country roads the last year. I have a bit of a lead foot and like to push my vehicles to the max, but the handling is phenominal for a 90K mile tire on the curvy roads and the ride is smooth and quiet when I can open her up to the 107mph limiter (not suggested). I am currently...read full review »
