“No doubt...the game of the year!”

I purchased this game for my husband. Little did I know that I wouldn't see him again. He plays Gears of War on XBOX Live all the time. I sat down to watch what the hype was all about, I have to admit I was intrigued. Players from all over the world gather to fight side by side in your own living room! The offline version was amazing in detail and storyline. This game offers endless challanges, sure to be a game to last for years to come!

“awesome”

This game is the best game in the world!!! you will never find such a great game the online so awesome and will keep you playing for hours. if you haven't bought it... buy it!!! its awesome.

“Gears of War on track...”

On track meaning it plays as if on rails. Very scripted single-player mode. Excellent graphics/physics save this title from being just another FPS. Multi-player, ok, but I hate Xbox Live. As a PC gamer also, I like games that I buy once and can meet on-line without paying extra per month.

“Graphics Excellent, but...”

Unfortunately, it plays very "scripted" in single-player. You have to move here or there to continue the story/game. I wish more games were like "Mercenaries" for the Xbox, or GTA. In other words, FREE ROAMING. Gears of War has that "go down this hallway or path" feeling through-out. Multi-player doesn't have that problem, of course, but I don't play the first 8hrs of a game in multi. Besides, most multiplayer FPS get old after the firts 2 hours of runnin' and gunnin'. Looks gorgeous, though, and the up close and personal kills can get you soaked! Gore, you either love it or roll in it...hehe
