Well, if you have to use a PC, this would be a good operating system, I actually prefer Windows 2000 (it's got all the power of xp without all the hassles and performance bog-downs). Overall XP is pretty solid, it has good hardware driver auto-detection and still follows the Microsoft user interface...review »

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition w/SP2 Ratings and Reviews
Windows XP is just another PC based operating system from Microsoft. If you keep XP up-to-date, regularly clean out old files and maintain a good anti-virus program and spy-ware program you will not have many problems.
While XP does provide the convenience of System Restore to get you up and running again quickly if XP should crash or power is interrupted, System Restore can slow up your system and use significant disk space and resources. System Restore may be a security risk as it may remember privacy information and files deleted even though previously deleted. This is only a general comment...review »
Vista may be newer but it is clearly not better. As often happens, a new product is rushed onto the market before it's ready. Now buyers are disappointed with Vista that doesn't seem to work very well with older programs and causes lots of headaches. WindowsXP has been on the market long enough to have any problems solved. If you still have Windows 98 or even 95, think first of XP when you update or you may be very disappointed.
If you're thinking of upgrading, XP is definitely the system to get. Vista is cumbersome and just NOT up to snuff. Not to mention the difficulty in trying to use Vista for the average person. I prefer XP Professional over XP Home, but for the average user, XP Home has more than enough bang for the buck.
We upgraded to Vista on some computers that we rebuilt and we are sorry. Vista is terrible and difficult to use. This is by far the best windows program. And if you upgrade with Vista you CANNOT seem to delete it without paying alot of money thru the computer repair services. STAY WITH XP
This product is Wonderfull, I wish that it would have come out sooner. It makes the process of doing multi tasks a breeze. I plan on purchasing several for family members who do not utilize this program.
This product allows you to work on you computer with your existing programs . You can have music downloads and open word documents that are older not 2007 . I will not get vista
best windows to use
i would suggest buying on you computer when you get it if you can but its so easy to install it anyways
it also has advanced security technologies.
For those who are not quite ready to upgrade to Windows Vista, this product is definitely for you. It is certainly one of the best versions of Windows to date.
