Optiplex745, really?  Wow, what a waste of a topic.  And when you do find the magical Sears employee handbook of lore that answers all Sears questions in a verbose manner, be sure to use it against the evil Sears conglomerate you so despise.

Now for actually being constructive ...

Lloyd you can either try your nearest Sears Parts & Service Center, although for many that may be a longer trip than needed, or try this website.

www.searspartsdirect.com

Enter in the model # of your generator and you should be able to pull up schematics and part numbers/descriptions.

Also, try going to www.managemyhome.com and try their owner's manual search.  Hopefully you will be able to pull up your owner's manual as a pdf so you can print it out.

.... and sometimes, just laughter.

Keep up the good work!

It's always great to have actual Sear employees that know the stores, their services and their products really well post their comments and suggestions. Anyone have any other ideas about where to look for extra parts?

If all else fails, contact Briggs & Stratton.  They manufacture all of the Craftsman generators that I know of.

On their website, www.briggsandstratton.com, you can select to email them a question about your generator.  Under brands, you can select a variety, including Craftsman.  Send them your information and you can get info about parts and repair straight from the source!

Great Answers.

You have put yourself in the shoes on the person needing the help. You have accepted his  problem as your problem. You have provided several options and solutions to the generator probelm. You have just shown the difference in average customer service to outstanding custome service by following back up with additional options on the generator problem. Outstanding  customer service is what a lot of retailers are missing today.

To optiplex and goodole, yes, I have been extremely busy during the holidays and I fell off the map for a while.

To birddog, thank you!  I agree that great customer service is what is missing from most retailers today.  Hopefully due to the tough economic climate more retailers will go back to the basics and make sure their #1 priority is the customer, especially after the sale.

Customer service was the first thing to go from retailers during the 90s.  Thankfully we are seeing some of that come back.  I have been highly impressed with both Kmart and Sears having more staff available -- and more knowledgeable staff -- in the past 6 months.  I hope this trend continues as it makes for a much more pleasant shopping experience.

It's actually less customers and not more staff.  May look like there is more people but there ain't.  Sorry to rain on your Sears Holdings Parade and all...

True, but due the the economic climate more of the slack staff has been cut, so staffing is better, just not larger in numbers.

Sadly enough, there has been a saturation of great people in the job market in the past year, allowing retailers to select the cream of the crop and drop the dead weights, allowing smart management to bring their stores to the top.

I don't think there IS a printed manual no more.

It's all "virtual" (in many, MANY pieces) on the company Intranet.

If you want a "feel" of how a virtual document looks and feels, go to the Sears.com Catalog link and view or download (15.5 Mb) a copy of the 40 page Open-Stock Tools, featuring Craftsman catalog.

Good luck!

Would it be possible to add a few more price scanners to your Livonia store? I find items I'd like to scan for the price in other departments & I have some trouble walking all the way to the scanners. Thank you.

Yaa... I worked in one store that didn't have a scanner in the Tool Department.

You had to either go to the Men's Department or the Women's Department.

Clothes are where the BIG bucks are, not the Tool Department.

What?

We had "all hands on deck" today, for the Monday Labor Day.

Was quite a site to see all the Sales Associates crowding around the two Sales Associate registers.

LOL!
