There is nothing better than a classic, and I don't think there is any more classic board game than Monopoly. This game has been a family favorite for years. I played it with my parents and grandparents and now I get to play Monopoly with my kids. Monopoly is a game that required strategy and financial know-how. Games can go short and long depending on how you want to play the game. Monopoly is timeless and there are so many variations no matter what you are into there is a Monopoly board game made just for you. (I love the classic version but we also have Spider-man and Lord of the Rings Monopoly.)...

This is a great game to spend hours with family & friends. If the weather is too hot or too wet, this is the way to go. The more players you have, the longer it takes.
The newer editions have updated game pieces and nicer game cards. This game is a staple to have around the house for some fun times.
If you want hours- and I mean hours- of fun then you should get this game. They make so many versions of Monopoly now - anyone can be excited about it. It is a great traditional game and is a very long game. it can be pretty addictive. We recently upgraded to the electronic version though and it makes things so much easier and a little quicker. It is a good family game
I love monopoly! It's a really fun way to bring the family together for a board game, and then simultaneously drive them apart from the intense competition. It's hard not to get involved in this game. We sometimes play for hours with no clear winner. The only problem is that you sometimes get mad at the other players, and cheating sometimes ensues. Overall, it's a great classic game that will continue to be a classic for years to come.
I recently had to babysit an 11 yr old who is in to nothing -pulled Monopoly out & she was entertained for hours. This is a great game & also a great way to teach kids (and old folks alike) a little about real estate. I like to play with shorten game rules but it's great that they give you the option for a longer game. This is def a classic & an awesome game to have around.
I used to have this when I was little and We just bought the New Version for my 7yr old. It took a little time to explain it all to him but as soon as I said "once you own all the same colors, you can build houses and then you can charge more"... His eyes lit up ! He was so excited, he set out to buy all the red ones, Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois, Then he built hotels on them and that was the end for the rest of us, whenever we'd land there we owed him $1,100. and one by one everybody went bankrupt. He was so happy to win his first game ever, LOL
This game helped teach math and reading comprehension...
read full review »When my new friend and I began looking at activities to enjoy, one of the first games we bought was the Traditional Monopoly. It's fun because it brings back the comfort of the traditional game and it's properties. Since, we often play with only two people we use the quick play option available in the instructions. I'm sure the new Monopoly varieties are great, and we almost purchased the Beatles version, but there's nothing like reminding you of your childhood and teen years and yes, even college with the traditional version. I highly recommend this for older board game seekers.
This is an ultimate family game and play can last for hours on end. I actually played until the banker ran out of money and we make more play money and keep playing. Adults love it just as much as kids do. Kids learn to count money and to pay up when they land on someone's property. They also learn they others must pay up when they land on their property.
My step-son loved this game when I first met him and he was only 6 years old! He'd been playing it for over 2 years!
Not the Junior. REGULAR (ages 8+ monopoly).
I really love this game! In fact, it teaches great financial savvy-ness. I loved it as kid. I cannot wait til our baby is a toddler, he will get to learn it also.
This time tested board game not only united our family to sit down and spend a few hours into buying and selling states and cities, it educates my little owns to handle money responsibly. Luv this game.
Monopoly is a must for every family. I grew up playing Monopoly and now i play it with my grandchildren. it is fun for all ages.
I remember the Christmas my sister and I received our own Monopoly Game. I remember playing for hours with my dad. Just writting the post brings back happy memories of those days. As a mother of 6 we love to play board games and monopoly is one of the kids favorites.
Monopoly was first a big hit during the Great Depression. People had fun buying property and collecting rent when in reality they were struggling financially. It provided a nice escape. Today I think the same is true. It's the same game it's always been, and that's a good thing! It's sooooo fun, I could just play it for hours!
Monopoly is a game that is wonderful to play. My family and I get together every Sunday and play Monopoly. We start after Church and sometimes play late into the evening. Everyone can play this game and we all have a great time. Monopoly is my favorite game and the best game ever.
