The sales part of this purchase was very smooth and helpful. This machine was easy to assemble. It was packed well. After it was all put together we put it to use. It's VERY smooth to use and QUIET! It doesn't take long at all to get your heart rate up and running. It works the muscles in your legs and... read full review »

Great for the basement!

I used to go to the YMCA and the elliptical machines were always in use, so I got this Nordic track elliptical machine. It is a great 1/2 hour to 40 minute workout!

Especially in the winter, when you can't get outside to walk/run.

For some reason, my husband thinks it hurts his feet ? I don't have that...

Just got the machine about a week ago, we went without the extended warranty because of the exorbitant price. The whole family has really enjoyed it - the adjustable stride length is a great idea and easy to change. The sound is better than expected! I can't believe people are marking off for not having an a/c adapter, when it does not indicate anywhere that it is included. As has been mentioned, biggest issue is the rocking - the base is way too narrow and once you get going there is quite a bit of play...for the price I paid (about 450) I will just deal with it, but it is annoying

I was able to put this together solo within a few hours, with the exception of wiring the connector through the upright so it could plug into the monitor console. I also had some difficulty getting the left leg bearing to slip into the lower rod on the left arm bar. I had to walk away a few times (hence why it took a few hours) cussing like a sailor from some of the frustration, but all in all it really wasn't too difficult to assemble. I did notice a typo error in the manual that said to use screw #120 when it meant screw #102 (there is no #120 - trial and error) I definitely recommend having... read full review »

My fiancee wanted one of these so that she could start working out at home instead of paying money and wasting time visiting a gym.  I saved up and was able to purchase one on Black Friday for $200 less than the lowest previously advertised price.

I assembled the NordicTrack in about 2 hours at home -- I was a mechanic for a time, so I have a lot of tools, and in college I used to assemble display models of all kinds of things for a hardware store where I worked.  It really didn't take many tools -- the only things I needed to supply were some screwdrivers and a rubber mallet.  Assembly was...

My only WARNING: There are ZERO extra screws, bolts, and washers....so make sure you are organized when you put this thing together! I freaked out a couple of times when I dropped a screw on the carpet, but thankfully was able to find them! My REVIEW: I purchased this NordicTrack Elliptical to exercise on in the garage while my daughter plays in the front yard. I have tried doing workout videos in the house, by my 4 year old daughter gets bored and will not allow me complete a video without interruption(s). This has been perfect so far, as she can easily keep herself entertained with sidewalk... read full review »

After a lot of research, I ended up buying this machine.. I only paid $399 but still think its not worth that much either.. The machine is just not built robust (looks robust though) and started squeaking and wobbling as soon as 20 min. after use.. The assembly was done correctly so don't think that assembly was an issue on my side... The heart rate monitor is almost always incorrect.. it shows 170 bpm before I even begin exercising while I know my resting bpm is usually 60... Overall, not happy with this purchase but cannot dare to send it back or use in its wobbly/squeaky form either...

I purchased the elliptical because I live in an area that is not conducive to outdoor walking. I am a 54 year old woman with a desk job, about 25 lbs overweight. I only work out on the elliptical for 25 minutes a day, 5 days a week (most weeks). I try to alternate my intensity level during the 25 minutes to maximize the benefits. I have only lost about 10 lbs., but I have total confidence that if I put more into the workouts, I would see greater results. I like the elliptical because it is very easy on my joints and feet.

We are on track for continuing our fitness level increasing in stamina and a more toned body. We are seniors and use it or lose it is our motto. We currently use our machine 5 days a week and play on the weekends. Thank you for giving us a pleasant experience, both in purchasing as well as using the equipment.

I've been challenged to workout every day by my physician.  Using the programs I know I am getting stronger and burning calories.

I'm 56 and I have to be careful starting on any fitness program and with this machine, I can workout at my own rate. I'm on the 3rd level of both Strengthening and Calorie Burn - not bad for a 56 year old with health problems.

I'm feeling better after each workout.  I am glad i purchased this machine!

Tried it in the store and I loved it! Got it on sale at a good price. My husband put it together, greased it up good. I noticed it squeaking when I first rode it. But it wasn't horrible. But now after two months and use of twice a week, the squeak is horrible. It's unusable even with an ipod IN my ears. When my husband has time he is going to try to figure it out because it should not be making this kind of noise, but I see other people have had this problem as well. It's not the grease because we made sure it was greased VERY well. Sad because I really love this thing and would use... read full review »

Good for the price

I purchased the NordicTrack E5 vi to add a low impact, cardio exercise to my work out routine. The machine works well. It has a smooth, adjustable stride and provides a good workout at higher resistance levels. The built-in speakers provide decent sound, but if you are looking for high quality audio, I'd use good quality ear buds instead. The built-in fan helps keep you cool during your workout and the space saver design frees up valuable floor space when not in use. However, the wheels at the front of the unit are too small making it difficult to move the unit. The control panel uses 4... read full review »

My wife and I did a great deal of research on elliptical's before we decided to go with the NordicTrack E5 vi. We needed to find one that would be suitable for both of us. With my wife being right around 5ft. and me being 6ft., we wanted to make sure we could adjust the stride accordingly. The E5 allowed us to select 13", 15" or 18". This works out great for us. We also were planning on putting the machine in our basement, which has low ceilings. We had no problems with worring about hitting our heads on the ceiling. Since the cost of having someone put the machine together cut into our budget,...

Great Christmas Gift!

We decided to purchase this elliptical because of the brand.  Got it home and it took some time to put it together.  Only missing one part and the customer service was great in shipping us the right part in short order.  Easy pick up from Sears and they put it in the truck for me.  Great customer service on Sears's part- like the old days of customer service.

The instructions were easy to follow and I liked the diagram of the screws they provided to make sure you were using the correct one for each part.  Wife loves it very much and is using it every night.  I would recommend it.  I have...

Took a little longer to assemble than I thought it would. After using it for over a week now, has begun to make some noises and flex some, will need some adjustments. Rep in store didn't know about the product at all, I had to do all the research to determine what I needed.
