My fiancee wanted one of these so that she could start working out at home instead of paying money and wasting time visiting a gym. I saved up and was able to purchase one on Black Friday for $200 less than the lowest previously advertised price.
I assembled the NordicTrack in about 2 hours at home -- I was a mechanic for a time, so I have a lot of tools, and in college I used to assemble display models of all kinds of things for a hardware store where I worked. It really didn't take many tools -- the only things I needed to supply were some screwdrivers and a rubber mallet. Assembly was...
read full review »After a lot of research, I ended up buying this machine.. I only paid $399 but still think its not worth that much either.. The machine is just not built robust (looks robust though) and started squeaking and wobbling as soon as 20 min. after use.. The assembly was done correctly so don't think that assembly was an issue on my side... The heart rate monitor is almost always incorrect.. it shows 170 bpm before I even begin exercising while I know my resting bpm is usually 60... Overall, not happy with this purchase but cannot dare to send it back or use in its wobbly/squeaky form either...
I purchased the elliptical because I live in an area that is not conducive to outdoor walking. I am a 54 year old woman with a desk job, about 25 lbs overweight. I only work out on the elliptical for 25 minutes a day, 5 days a week (most weeks). I try to alternate my intensity level during the 25 minutes to maximize the benefits. I have only lost about 10 lbs., but I have total confidence that if I put more into the workouts, I would see greater results. I like the elliptical because it is very easy on my joints and feet.
We are on track for continuing our fitness level increasing in stamina and a more toned body. We are seniors and use it or lose it is our motto. We currently use our machine 5 days a week and play on the weekends. Thank you for giving us a pleasant experience, both in purchasing as well as using the equipment.
I've been challenged to workout every day by my physician. Using the programs I know I am getting stronger and burning calories.
I'm 56 and I have to be careful starting on any fitness program and with this machine, I can workout at my own rate. I'm on the 3rd level of both Strengthening and Calorie Burn - not bad for a 56 year old with health problems.
I'm feeling better after each workout. I am glad i purchased this machine!
My wife and I did a great deal of research on elliptical's before we decided to go with the NordicTrack E5 vi. We needed to find one that would be suitable for both of us. With my wife being right around 5ft. and me being 6ft., we wanted to make sure we could adjust the stride accordingly. The E5 allowed us to select 13", 15" or 18". This works out great for us. We also were planning on putting the machine in our basement, which has low ceilings. We had no problems with worring about hitting our heads on the ceiling. Since the cost of having someone put the machine together cut into our budget,...
read full review »We decided to purchase this elliptical because of the brand. Got it home and it took some time to put it together. Only missing one part and the customer service was great in shipping us the right part in short order. Easy pick up from Sears and they put it in the truck for me. Great customer service on Sears's part- like the old days of customer service.
The instructions were easy to follow and I liked the diagram of the screws they provided to make sure you were using the correct one for each part. Wife loves it very much and is using it every night. I would recommend it. I have...
