NordicTrack T5 zi Treadmill —

My wife and I contemplated buying a treadmill for many months and after careful consideration of other brands, reading reviews and comparing prices it was time to head for our local Sears store to make our purchase.

We marched right into the fitness department with NordicTrack on our minds. The more expensive models were what I had in mind until the wife and I  came across the NordicTrack model T5 zi. On sale for a reasonable Sears price of $599.99, I also found the same machine at NordicTrack direct with a closeout price of $30.00 more. After looking at a few display models we were politely greeted by a young man who asked if we needed help so we explained our need.

I test drove a few models and we decided on the T5 zi model because it fit our budget and had features we wanted. I brought the machine home in my truck and quickly distributed the well packed components in my living room. Although the assembly process took a couple hours, it was not difficult for me (I have tools). The unit is heavy (as expected) but the weight I believe is an important factor in its design because we do not want a treadmill bouncing across the living room floor as we use it.

The unit is reasonably quite under operation and the simple soft touch buttons are easy to reach while walking or jogging. The LED screen is easy to read and understand and there is enough pre-programmed work-out routines to keep us challenged. With an audio port and speakers available for I-pod or mp3 you can "Rock-N-Walk."

The unit feels solid as we put it through the paces. After a healthy work out we can fold the treadmill up for space saving if we choose. According to mfg. specifications this is easy to accomplish as it takes only 45 pounds of pressure to raise the folding section.

We purchased a 3 year Maintenance Agreement, as we do for most any new appliance. I expect the T5 zi to keep us busy for a long time or at least until we decide to upgrade to a more sophisticated NordicTrack model.
