NordicTrack T7 si Treadmill —
I had this unit for over a month. My wife and I moved to a new home, built a workout area in the basement, and cancelled our gym membership.
Some quick points:
1.) Delivery is $65. Installation is $199. You will have to make two separate appointments. Make sure the delivery people put the box in the room you are going to want the unit set up. The install people will not move the unit (other than to take out of box and put together).
2.) I paid for the install. The tech put it together in 45 minutes and it works great. While I am technically inclined, I did not want to bothered. It looked as though installationwould have been a pain.
3.) You must get a single device surge protector for this unit!! (About 9 bucks, any hardware store). The unit has some quirky electrical surges at power up and this will help protect it. I believe those that have wrote reviews with consul problems probably had there unit zapped. The manual tells you to unplug the unit as well as turn off the power switch. There are 3 levels of power involved here. The outlet, the power switch, and the key. My treadmill is hooked up to an outlet that is controlled by a switch. When I throw the switch, the consul lights flash briefly. This also happens when I turn on the power switch on the unit. This tells me the consul is not isolated well electrically. Still, I have been using the protector and have not had any problems.
4.) For the price, this treadmill compares nicely to those in the gyms. I like the smoothness of the inclines and the tread. My wife does say at around 2.6 mph and less it does get a little jerky but that it is not that bad.
5.) The pre-programmed exercises to me are kinda useless. However, the custom workout feature works for me. We have not tried the IFit yet so can't comment on it.
Again, keeping in mind the price, I think this is a great buy.
