Unique

I have owned this tent for 3 years and have never had any problems with it. I'll agree with some that it can be a little complicated to figure out the top assembly, but after I did it once, I painted a color dot at each connector and now don't have a problem at all. It's the roomiest tent we've every...

Most Helpful Critical Review

Two major thoughts go into this review:

1. Before purchasing this tent, I read all of the previous reviews

2. I really, really like this tent.

So why only two stars? Here's why.  We put this tent on layaway and were very excited to use it over the July 4th weekend on our very first visit to Wisconsin...

Northwest Territory Family Cabin with Screen... Reviews

Since we got the tent we have enjoyed it in Yosemite, Big Basin and backyard camping and other than breaking closet poles (our fault - we forced things). We love it. I only read one other review and I completely disagree about it's setup. My eight year it set it up with only a small amount of help from me, his dad. As long as you actually READ the directions and follow the diagrams, and take your time setting it up it is really great. We have not got to test it in the rain in our two years of using it, but my guess is it will do great. My family and I love it and would definitely buy one again.

We have used this tent once and so far we like it - it rained and we didn't get wet inside.  I really like the closets it allowed us to store all our clothes and sleeping bag, because we also bought the 5 in 1 Coleman air mattress that converts to a couch.

We are able to fit a king size mattress, plus a queen size mattress plus a pack in play very comfortably.  With that said it would have been helpful to have the dimensions of the sleeping area on the box.  We tried to guess but we were off by 3 feet deep.  It is a 7 feet deep and 15 feet wide.  I will tell you those closets help, so...

This tent was a dream.  It went up easy, although, I could not make sense of the directions, my husband had no trouble at all, and once it was unpacked, it made perfect sense, everything was color coded, and snapped together.  Everything fits easily in to the travel case, which is a little heavy, but fit nicely in the trunk of my car. This tent is spacious, we had 2 queen air mattresses, and 2 dog kennels set up inside, and there was still plenty of room to store clothes, in the closets, and extra bedding.  The pouches on the interior were convenient for storing eye glasses, cell phones and...

The Northwest Territory Family Cabin w/Screen Porch Cabin Tent 15 x 16 served its purpose for us on our Family Camp.  It's important that you all understand that we are heavy duty campers and we do it when we are ATVing adventures, so tents and equipment are not used lightly and we've done it a LONG time...we are not beginners.

The overall design was simple but the 15 x 16 is not the size throughout.  That extra space is taking into account the porch and not the OVERALL dimension.  I would say at best this is 8 x 16 with a 5x5 screen porch and two storage areas appx 2x2 square that lay outside...

So we purchased the tent for a camping trip to Maine in July.  Set the tent up the day before we left and it went up fairly easy.  There's a video on Youtube to help you with the poles.  They're all color coded but the video does help you conceptualize a little better.

Once the tent was setup I sprayed it with 3 cans of Kiwi Camp Dry.  After each coat I'd let it dry and then reapply another coat of Camp Dry on the tent.  I sprayed EVERYTHING.....the fly, the walls, the window zips.... EVERYTHING!

I also purchased a silver sharpy and labeled each pole with a letter....an "A" and it's...

I luv my tent !

One of the best tents I have ever owned.  Once it is set up for the first time, it is easy to set up again and again.

I like the family cabin tent because there is a screen room which you can sit in the shade and the closets are perfect for camping a long period of time. The electric cord opening is good to have a radio or something to relax when camping. I am not sure how it would hold up in rain and snow. The home would be great to have one room as the bedroom and one room set as a livingroom no computer or television be somewhere nice and quiet away from society like be at a state park where its nice and quiet. The worst part of setting the tent up is placing the top on the tent because of the heighth. I have...

We purchased this tent to replace an older, smaller, worn out one.. I had done lots of research online, looked at them in stores, and bought this one. Put it up in garage to get used to it and spray it. Poles were colour coded to plastic fittings, and instructions were sewn into bag so we couldnt lose them. First time took about an hour, maybe houe and a half. Used about 5 cans of water proofing, doing all seams and material 2 times. Put it up on the campsite, just me and 7 year ols son, in lees than an hour. Wife arrived next day, we we happy with the room, and did not get that closed in feeling...

Northwestern-Territory's Big Sky Lodge tent is cheap in price and cheap in quality. As others have said the instructions were terrible. The picture of the frame setup was the only thing of use. When I was setting it up in the back yard, I got to the main frame leg poles and while working on a corner leg, the plastic corner bracket broke. This was the first time we had tried to set it up. My kids were very sad, they couldn't sleep in it. Needless to say it is going back to the store and I am going to find a place that sells quality tents even if it will have to smaller.

Nice Tent But........

Once you get this tent set up, it's great. But it took 2 adults 1 1/2 hours to set it up the first time. Many poles were not color coded making it further difficult to set up. Tent size is great for a family of 4, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything larger. Closets are great. Be careful with the zippers, they appear to be cheap and easily breakable. The vented ceiling is nice for the hot weather that we camped in. I am sure it will be easier to set up the second time. All around, it's a good tent for the price. Just give yourself plenty of time to set it up the first time.

pieces broke

We haven't taken this tent on an official camping trip yet but we did do a trial run in the yard. It took 5 adults one hour to set the tent up the first time. Take down was a breeze though. I think that next time it will go a lot smoother. The directions aren't very good. I liked that they were attached to the bag but they were written poorly. I noticed another review said their outside closet pole broke and so did ours. We exchanged it.

I got this tent (NORTHWEST TERRITORY FAMILY CABIN WITH SCREEN PORCH TENT) for my family camping trips we take every year for the 4th of July. I was so excited that I had my brother come over the night I got it so he could help me set it up to make sure that all the parts were in tacked. It has a case/bag on wheels for easy storage and mobility. It also came with a light that has Velcro on the back of it that attaches to the top of the inside center of the tent. It has a power outlet slot so you can put a extension cord through so you can use power if need be. It was raining and dark while we set...

I purchased this tent to go to Calico and set up instructions are very bleak but once you have set it up one time you are set for life. Very solid in the desert winds and I only had one part break, one of the closet support fiberglass rods had an end break off but that made no problems with the rest of the tent. I will use this tent for years to come. I plan to use it the weekend of Dec.18th so we will see just how good it is in the extreame cold of Mid Hills camp ground in the Mojave Preserve, Ca. You are welcome to stop by just look for the largest tent on the grounds.
