We have had our keg o rater for a yr and yes at first my husband had to play with it to get beer instead of foam. we love it have had no problems with it at all since.
This is not a bad item. It keeps the beer cold. It is just really hard to regulate. The guy where I got my CO2 told me to keep it at 5 on the regulator so I did. All we get is foam. So you have to go through this procedure that they recommend in the instructions which involves relieving the pressure and waiting for 30 minutes after each time you try to pour a beer. What a pain to have to wait everytime you try to regulate it. After we shut down the CO2 and wait the regulator never moves from the 5 (whether it is on or off). Then if you try to pour several beers hoping for the foam to go away, then...

I bought this for my hubby for Christmas, but got nervous after reading many negative reviews on other websites. I nearly returned it without even opening it. But, so far, so good. He DID have to do some work on the regulator. Sounds like that's a problem the company needs to address. Thankfully we have a neighbor familiar w/ regulators and he was able to take the thing apart and stretch the spring and get it working properly. We also have several friends w/ kegorators who warned us that there would be issues w/ a lot of foam initially -- just something that happens for awhile w/ a full keg and...

I got a Kegorator as a gift and it's been nothing but trouble. The unit does not keep the beer cold enough and if I turn up the thermostat, it ices inside and gets even warmer. The regulator is not sensitive enough to accurately port the correct pressure to the keg - thus nothing but foam or no beer at all. I've wasted several hundred dollars on the thing and I get little to no use out of it. Worse, I tried to call the manufacturer and they don't answer the phone.
Unfortunately, our product arrived with parts missing. Also, it is very hard to find someone in our area to fill the CO2 tank as this product only comes with a 2.5 size and all the ones available were 5.
